New statistics have shown that, sadly, these two events were not unique.

It has been found that, in the eighty-three days of 2021, there have been 104 mass shootings.

That's nearly 1.3 shootings every day.

Which defines a mass shooting as "four or more people shot and/or killed in a single incident, at the same general time/location not including the shooter."

The 104 incidents have happened across a variety of States...

Including Colorado, Georgia, California, Nevada, New York, Arizona, New Mexico, Florida, and Texas.

And as for the number of mass shooting deaths this year?

Well, the number currently stands at approximately 9,647, with more than 7,000 injuries.

More specifically...

Sixty-five children up to the age of eleven have been killed, with 126 injured; 239 teens between the ages of twelve and seventeen have died, with 588 injured; and fifteen police officers have also been killed, with seventy-one injured.

On Tuesday, March 23rd, President Biden spoke of taking action to prevent further mass violence in the wake of the deaths in Boulder.

"I don't need to wait another minute - let alone an hour - to take common-sense steps that will save the lives in the future, and I urge my colleagues in the House and Senate to act."
