The fourteen-year-old is seen walking to the front counter with the baby girl cradled in her arms claiming she had "found the infant", according to ABC7.

Before she ran away, leaving the newborn in the arms of the kind stranger.

Alease Scott, who was eating lunch with her boyfriend, Walter Cocca, didn't hesitate when the teen asked for help.

"I said, 'Do you mind if I check the baby's vitals?' and she readily handed the baby over to me so my focus went right onto the baby," Alease explained, before confirming she is trained in CPR and first aid.

Because the baby still had part of her umbilical cord attached, an ambulance was swiftly called and paramedics arrived on the scene with medical gear and oxygen.

ABC7

"Once I applied an oxygen mask to the baby, all of a sudden we heard the most beautiful cry and the baby started moving, she slightly opened up her eyes and then she closed her eyes but the sweetest thing was when she got hungry and she was trying to suckle on the oxygen mask... so we knew she was OK after that," Alease said.

It was while this was all happening when the teenager left the restaurant...

But the police later found the girl and confirmed both she and the baby are doing well.

The fourteen-year-old won't be facing criminal charges...

And the baby girl is being put up for adoption.

"I'm just so happy I was there to help because she just was desperate and didn't know what to do, she was so young," Alease explained.

Speaking of the shocking incident, the family-owned business said they were happy the young mom decided to go to their restaurant for help.

"And hopefully, we as a society become better at just helping one another, especially after COVID," Aguilar said.
