Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Ted Cruz had a very public Twitter spat over the country's current immigration policy this week...
During which AOC suggested that Mexico ban Cruz from visiting for his now-infamous vacations.

Now, AOC has been making waves in the world of politics throughout the last few years.
Born in the Bronx in 1989, the popular congresswoman was brought up in a Puerto Rican family and went on to show off her political ambitions from a very young age.
This included taking part in her high school's National Hispanic Institute's Lorenzo de Zavala (LDZ) Youth Legislative Session and becoming the LDZ Secretary of State while studying at Boston University.
The ambitious young woman has also worked extensively for years to try and put an end to the notorious Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention centers...
Abolish ICE. https://t.co/9uMtKmyEI1— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) November 27, 2019
Which is something that would, in the future, gain her a huge following and wave of support from Democrats.
After graduating with a double-major in international relations and economics, AOC moved back in with her mom in the Bronx following her father's tragic death...
And went on to work multiple jobs, such as waitressing and cleaning, to help her mom fight foreclosure of their home.
In 2016, Cortez started working as an organizer for Democratic candidate, Bernie Sanders, and his presidential campaign...
And even though the campaign was unsuccessful, this didn't stop AOC.
Shortly afterward, she set off on a road trip across America visiting places such as Flint, Michigan, and Standing Rock Indian Reservation in North Dakota to speak to people affected by the Flint water crisis and the Dakota Access Pipeline.
Taking office at age twenty-nine, AOC is the youngest woman ever to serve in the United States Congress...
And she was the youngest member of Congress until this year, when Madison Cawthorn was sworn in.
Truly amazing, right?
AOC uses her social media platform to promote her views, which has gained her an impressive global following...
And she advocates a very progressive platform that includes Medicare for All, a federal jobs guarantee, the Green New Deal, and, of course, abolishing ICE.
So, all in all...
AOC is a woman who is striving to make a difference in our country, especially for women, immigrants, and disadvantaged people.
So, of course, she's no stranger to a little bit of criticism from time to time...
From middle-aged Republican men, in particular.
And her latest crossfire with a disgruntled Republican took place on Twitter, for the whole world to see.
As stated earlier, AOC became embroiled in a very public argument with Republican senator, Ted Cruz, about the country's current immigration policy.
The Texas Republican, who recently traveled to the US-Mexico border to highlight the recent rise in migrant crossings, said AOC is pushing for a "full open borders" policy...
While also pointing out that, last year, the U.S had the lowest number of migrants crossing the border in forty-five-years.
Here's what he said:
.@AOC explains the real Dem position: abolish ICE.— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) April 1, 2021
Full open borders. Which would make the #BidenBorderCrisis even worse.
She says nothing else works.
Last year, we had the lowest illegal immigration IN 45 YEARS.
This year, we have the highest in 20 years. https://t.co/zT8wKuvkRm

Well, in turn, AOC shot back by slamming Cruz for recently escaping his home state during its freeze-over to vacation in Cancún with his family...
Before offering a piece of advice to Mexico regarding his future travel plans.
It's needless to say, people are loving her response...

Here's what she said:
Ted, this is pretty rich coming from someone who fled their own home (and responsibilities) during an environmental crisis to cross the border and seek refuge in Mexico.— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) April 1, 2021
Also you funded cages, expanded cages, and yet you’re complaining about cages. You have no policy, just puff. https://t.co/0MI8oU0EtQ

This is a reference to when Cruz made the untimely decision to vacation in Cancun while the state of Texas froze over.
She then followed up with this remark:
Maybe Mexico shouldn’t let YOU in the next time you try to run away from your job to sip umbrella drinks in Cancún.— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) April 1, 2021
"Maybe Mexico shouldn't let YOU in the next time you try to run away from your job to sip umbrella drinks in Cancún."
There's really no coming back from that, is there?
Of course, Ted Cruz is yet to come back with a reply.
AOC 1 - 0 Cruz.
