Now, for most parents, gender isn't too important.
Regardless of whether the baby will be a boy or a girl, all that really matters is that they're happy and healthy.
But, when you have more than one child, it's always nice to have one of each, isn't it?
Most expectant parents dream of having that wonderful mix of both boys and girls - because it's just the most fun that way!
But for this particular mother, things took a dramatic turn this week.
After she gave birth, it was not what she bargained for.
Yep, as stated earlier, a mom has gone viral for spending money on the girl she expected.
Only to give birth to another boy.
"The doctor suddenly said 'did you say you were having a girl?'"
"At the same time Karl shouted, 'Lauren, our baby has balls'," she remembers.
"I didn't want to have another baby for the sake of trying for a girl."
"That wouldn't be fair on that child."
"I am grateful to have 3 beautiful and healthy children."
Still, that's got to hurt the wallet, right?
