Princess Beatrice's original name had to be scrapped because the Queen thought it was "too yuppie", it has been claimed.
The birth of a baby royal always brings plenty of excitement and speculation when it comes to the name of the baby and not to mention, the reasons behind the name choice.
This year, the family has welcomed the most gorgeous royals - an August, a Lucas, and a Lilibet, with Princess Beatrice and her husband Edo, also expecting a baby later this year.
But in talking about carefully selecting and announcing the name of a new royal, it has now been revealed that Beatrice's parents had to change their choice in the name after the Queen branded it "too yuppie."
Now, we know that picking a name for a potential King or Queen is a pretty big deal, but it must sting a little bit when the Queen shuts it down.
There are many protocols to follow before a name can be announced to the world. The main tradition is that the Queen gets the option to give her seal of approval--it sounds like a pretty big deal, but it's actually just an informal chat, as per Wales Online.
Usually, she doesn't oppose names revealed to her, but this certainly wasn't the case when Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson shared their name idea after welcoming their first child in August of 1988.
It took 2 weeks for the Yorks to announce Beatrice's name, according to the Sun.
Ferguson had her entire heart set on naming her daughter Princess Annabell, but her Majesty's feedback was apparently that the name was just "too yuppie."
She did, however, suggest the name Beatrice - taking inspiration from the name of Queen Victoria's youngest daughter. Her full name is Beatrice Elizabeth Mary, representing her grandmother and great-grandmother.
So, we can't wait to hear what Beatrice is deciding to call her own baby... but the royal isn't due until autumn, leaving a couple of months for us to speculate!
All of the royals are known for picking sentimental names for their children, and all of the Cambridge kids have family tributes in their chosen names.
Princess Charlotte's full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana - a tribute to the Queen and Prince Williams's late mother, Princess Diana.
