It's the news we've all been waiting for. Bridgerton has been renewed for a third and fourth season and we're all beyond ecstatic.

With the production for Season 2 already underway...

It seems as though the popular Netflix show is around to stay.

And just like us, you're probably wondering about all the nitty-gritty details, right?

Well, we've got all the latest gossip for you, including everything from the press release revealed by Netflix's VP of Global TV Bela Bejaria.

Now, Netflix has been responsible for some major hits in the past...

Shows such as The Crown, Glow, Stranger Things, and Grace and Frankie have all attracted huge viewership.

But we've never seen anything quite like Bridgerton before.

When it first hit our screens back in December 2020, we all knew this show was bound to be a hit, but no one could have ever predicted it would smash so many records out of the park.

Just after we moved into the new year, we heard the news that it became Netflix's most-watched original series ever.

According to Deadline, the Regency-era romance was watched by a record eighty-two million households around the world whether that was partially or entirely. The streaming platform projected that it would hit the sixty-three million mark, but those predictions were completely shattered as over nineteen million more people tuned in to watch.

It has some other pretty impressive stats to boast, too.

The show also bagged the top spot on Netflix's top 10 rankings in a whopping seventy-six countries.

But if you're one of the few that has not watched it yet, don't worry, we'll give you a bit of a low-down.

Created by Chris Van Dusen, Bridgerton follows the 8 siblings of the powerful Bridgerton family as they attempt to find love. The series is based on best-selling author Julia Quinn's 9-novel Bridgerton collection, and it's well and truly swept viewers off their feet.

People have been gushing over the costumes, music, the unique characters...

Fans simply can't get enough of the scandal-filled drama.

And now...

Some seriously exciting Bridgerton news has just dropped.

Netflix made the announcement that everyone has been waiting for.

The hit show has been renewed for a third and fourth season!

Posting to Twitter, the creators of the show have let fans know that their Bridgerton dreams will not be coming to an end any time soon.

And of course, everyone can't stop talking about it...

Chris Van Dusen posted a behind the scenes look of one of the show's most iconic rooms writing:

"More #Bridgerton love coming to this room soon! Renewed for Seasons 3 AND 4! I've poured every ounce of myself into creating this show and the way the world continues to embrace it continues to AMAZE ME. Thank you @netflix."

And that's not all, @shondaland also posted a little something to get fans excited alongside this caption:

"This author is pleased to share the most joyous of news with you, dear readers."

Netflix's VP of Global TV Bela Bejaria also added this in a recent press release:

"Bridgerton swept us off our feet. The creative team, led by Shonda, knew the material and delivered a beautiful, emotional, romantic drama for our members. They have some exciting plans for the future, and we think audiences will continue to swoon for this show. We're planning to be in the Bridgerton business for a long time to come."

So that's enough confirmation that we don't have to worry about it ending any time soon.

The news comes after the streaming giant also confirmed Season 2 with a "letter" from the show's infamous gossip-monger, Lady Whistledown...

Which notes that production on Season 2 of the period drama will get underway this spring. And reports state that it already has!

"The incomparable cast of Bridgerton will return to production in Spring 2021," the pamphlet said, hinting that the entire Season 1 cast will be back though the involvement of some will likely be scaled down.

According to Deadline, casting went underway for several new roles pretty early on...

"We have a bunch of new characters we are going to be introducing," creator Chris Van Dusen said, announcing the renewal months ago on Today with Hoda & Jenna.

"Anthony is going to have a love interest next season, and I think it's going to be as sweeping and moving and as beautiful as viewers of the first season have come to expect from the show."

Here's all the evidence confirming the third and fourth seasons:
