Britney Asks Court to Charge Dad With Conservatorship Abuse | 22 Words

Britney Spears has been making an abundance of headlines recently. Why? Well, it's all about her conservatorship abuse scandal, of course.

After weeks of dominating the headlines every single day, Spears is now making yet another one. This time after saying she won't be performing on stage anytime again soon. Later, she said: "I quit!".

Taking to Instagram with a lengthy post, Britney wrote:

For those of you who choose to criticize my dancing videos ... look I'm not gonna be performing on any stages anytime soon with my dad handling what I wear, say, do, or think 🚫🙅🏼♀️ 🚫!!!! I've done that for the past 13 years ... I'd much rather share videos YES from my living room instead of onstage in Vegas where some people were so far gone they couldn't even shake my hand and I ended up getting a contact high from weed all the time ... which I didn't mind but it would have been nice to be able to go to the mother fucking spa 💆🏼♀️🤭🧖🏼♀️ !!!! And no I'm not gonna put on heavy makeup and try try try on stage again and not be able to do the real deal with remixes of my songs for years and begging to put my new music in my show for MY fans ... so I quit !!!! I don't like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes !!!!! My so-called support system hurt me deeply !!!! This conservatorship killed my dreams ... so all I have is hope and hope is the only thing in this world that is very hard to kill ... yet people still try !!!! I didn't like the way the documentaries bring up humiliating moments from the past ... I'm way past all that and have been for a long time !!!! And for women who say it's weird the way I still have hope for fairy tales ... go fuck yourself 🖕🏼 !!!!! As I said ... hope is all I have right now ... you're lucky I post anything at all ... if you don't like what you see, unfollow me !!! People try to kill hope because hope is one of the most vulnerable and fragile things there is !!!! I'm gonna go read a mother fucking fairy tale now !!!! Psss if you don't want to see my precious ass dancing in my living room or it's not up to your standards ... go read a fucking book 📕 !!!!!

Britney appeared in court again just last Wednesday and got emotional over the phone, telling Los Angeles judge Brenda Penny that she wants her dad, Jamie Spears, to be charged with conservatorship abuse, according to Entertainment Tonight.

The pop star later called out the people closest to her who "never showed up" for her but who are now trying to "save face" with "righteous" displays of public support.

Britney shared a quote on Instagram which read: "Never forget who ignored you when you needed them and who helped you before you even had to ask."

She accompanied the quote with a caption that read:

There's nothing worse than when the people closest to you who never showed up for you post things in regard to your situation whatever it may be and speak righteously for support … there's nothing worse than that !!!!
How dare the people you love the most say anything at all … did they even put a hand out to even lift me up at the TIME !!!??? How dare you make it public that NOW you CARE … did you put your hand out when I was drowning ???? Again … NO … so if you're reading this and you know who you are … and you actually have the nerve to say anything about my situation just to save face for yourself publicly !!!

If you're gonna post something …. Please stop with the righteous approach when you're so far from righteous it's not even funny," she said, adding three middle-finger emojis. "And have a good day !!!!!

It's unclear exactly who the message was aimed at.

In court earlier this week, Judge Penny granted Britney approval to hire her own lawyer for the conservatorship case, a request the singer made during her testimony at a hearing on June 23rd. Britney was later given permission to hire Mathew Rosengart, a Hollywood lawyer and former federal prosecutor, as her new attorney.

Rosengart appeared in court for the hearing on Wednesday to tell the judge that Britney "has a constitutional right to pick her own attorney," and that he thinks her "powerful testimony shows she is capable of hiring counsel."

Britney also claimed: "This conservatorship is literally allowing my dad to ruin my life," alleging that she's always been "extremely scared" of her dad because she claims she, "thought he was going to show up drunk."

Repeating her previous statements that the conservatorship feels like "f**king cruelty" and said she thought those who were in charge of her conservatorship were "trying to kill" her.

The singer explained that in the past, the situation would frustrate her, resulting in her making "mistakes" as well as having "breakdowns and angry tantrums," but she thinks that the people in charge of her Conservatorship were actually trying to make her go crazy.

"I want to press charges against my father for conservatorship abuse. I want an investigation into my dad."

Rosengart then added that: "We will be moving promptly and aggressively for Jamie's removal."

"The question remains, why is he involved? He should step down voluntarily because that's what's in the best interest of the conservative," Ronsengart stated.

The hearing was held at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in downtown Los Angeles with the ACLU, the ACLU of Southern California, and twenty-five other civil rights and disability rights organizations supporting Britney's right to chose her own attorney as well as her freedom.
