Shocking footage has shown the moment 2 Black cyclists were detained and held at gunpoint after police officers mistook them for suspects.
This comes just days after former police officer, Derek Chauvin, was convicted of the murder of George Floyd.
When Floyd died as a result of Chauvin kneeling on his neck for nearly 9 minutes in May last year, the issue surrounding systematic racism within our police force was brought to light in a way it had never been before.
Following Floyd's death, thousands upon thousands of people from all over the world took to the streets in protest.
However, despite the Black Lives Matter movement being bigger than ever before, the issue prevailed.
Police brutality has long been an issue here in the states...
And to this very day, people - particularly those from minority groups - continue to lose their lives at the hands of our law enforcement.
This month alone, several young Black and Hispanic people have been fatally shot by police officers.
Daunte White, Adam Toledo, and Ma'Khia Bryant are just some of the names of those who have lost their lives.
Thankfully, there are many people who live to tell the tale of their unjust police encounters...
And the latest to do so took to TikTok to share the unsettling footage of the moment he and a friend were detained at gunpoint by police while out on their bicycles in Orlando.
The cyclist, known as riskie_e, shared several videos of him and his friend's encounter...
Explaining that they were held at gunpoint because they "match the description of 2 suspects."
TMZ later reported that the officers were hunting down 2 Black men suspected of robbery.
Many TikTokers were outraged by the footage, and instantly slammed the police officers' actions.
However, others were convinced that the officers were simply doing their jobs.
In the first video, the men can be seen riding their bikes along the sidewalk when a flashing police car approached and pulled over.
"Get off the bikes! Get on your knees," screamed the officer at the cyclists, who immediately complied with their orders and stopped pedaling.
"What happened? What happened? We ain't do nothing?" the cyclist can be heard calling to the officer.
The police ignored his questions, and instead screamed again to "get on the ground, stomach on the ground."
The cyclist shouts back, "I'm on the ground. I didn't do nothing... You have your gun drawn, and I didn't do nothing."
A different video shows the officers ordering the cyclists to crawl on their stomachs towards them...
Before they were handcuffed and detained on the sidewalk for hours while police took their fingerprints.
"So me and the homie got pulled over last night at gunpoint by the police," the cyclist later explained. "They pretty much said we fit the description of 2 suspects that just committed a robbery."

"After all of this is done, come to find out they brought the person over, the person didn't ID us at all," he added.

What do you think? Were the cyclists unlawfully targeted? Or were the police officers simply doing their jobs?
