Yesterday, Chrissy Teigen was hit with some serious accusations after Courtney Stodden called her out for bullying...
Now, Teigen has responded...
Fans were shocked just how cruel some of these messages are.
Especially because she's known for calling out others for similar things, while also discussing topics such as anti-bullying.
Comments poured in...
chrissy teigen is a real-life mean girl who has always found joy in being completely rude, dismissive & out-of-pocket towards literal minors (courtney stodden, quvenzhané wallis) towards children as a full-grown mother of 2 & then has the audacity to turn around & play the victim— indica sun sativa moon hybrid rising (@stargirlheaven) May 11, 2021
Just did a quick advanced search on "chrissy teigen courtney stodden until:2013-12-31 since:2009-01-01" and yeah, Chrissy was as mean as Courtney says she was. Ugh.— internet pirate (we/us) 🚀🌛🛳🏰 (@ideirdre) May 12, 2021
You publicly bullied & posted these extremely obscene comments on that Courtney Stodden girl. Take accountability for that w/o your PR team doing it for you, then you can talk about whose actions are right/wrong. Why do you hate other women so much?— Melissa (@CafeEnLasVenas) May 7, 2021
I don’t think we really needed Courtney Stodden to tell us what a horrible human @chrissyteigen is. She kind of always gave me that vibe. 🤷🏻♀️— JayyRocketship (@JayyRocketship) May 12, 2021
Is she ever going to apologize for bullying Courtney Stodden?— HouseBear (@HauzBear) May 12, 2021
People have been tweeting at Chrissy Teigen about Courtney Stodden for years you see her “epic clap backs” she could have apologized years ago— perfectly adequate kandace (@ibelieveyoubut) May 12, 2021
Democrats saying “Courtney Stodden made up the tweets about Chrissy Teigen to help republicans” is exactly what’s wrong with our system. It’s not “believe victims only if it fits the agenda”. It’s believe victims, period.— Shireen (@ShireenKahlon) May 12, 2021
Don't care for Courtney Stodden attention getting antics but Chrissy Teigen telling (a at the time 16 year old) her to take a "dirt nap" that's some foul a** sh*t.— Thistle (@Thistlebristle) May 12, 2021
Every time Chrissy Teigen is trending it’s always a bad situation pic.twitter.com/3gmXpzXRbv— ACAB 🌱 (@WeSHIPTHEMM) May 11, 2021
Chrissy Teigen is a bully.— Jordan Rachel (@TheJordanRachel) May 11, 2021
That’s it. That’s the tweet.
This scandal is really going to tarnish her reputation as she and her husband were one of the internet's most beloved celebrity couples.
Musical star John is married to model, Chrissy, and the pair have a huge public presence.
Their romance began in 2007.
Teigen first met her husband on the set of his 2007 music video for “Stereo," where she starred as the singer's love interest.
The model, author, and TV personality later revealed that when the shoot was over, the pair went back to John's hotel room, ate an In-N-Out, and hooked up.
"We did the music video, we were together for like twelve hours," she told Wendy Williams in 2014. "We spent the entire day together, me in my underwear and him in a full suit, and I went to go say goodbye to him, to his hotel and we didn't even say goodbye that night."
After 4 years of dating, Legend got down on one knee.
He proposed during a romantic vacation in the Maldives over the festive season - which is Teigen's favorite holiday.
The couple also share 2 children together.
Teigen gave birth to their daughter, Luna Simone Stephens, on April 14, 2016, and son, Miles Theodore Stephens, on May 16, 2018.
All in all, the Legend and Teigen clan are truly family goals...
But it's her ongoing social media presence that truly cemented her as an internet favorite before these claims came about.
She's not one for sugar-coating...
And there's no denying that the model keeps things real.
She's also been open about parenting...
And posts content that so many parents can relate to.
She even showed off her far from glamorous coronavirus test.
Honestly loved it https://t.co/UNRwG3HNcD— chrissy teigen (@chrissy teigen)1590523304.0
Weirdly, she seemed to love having a cotton stick shoved up her nose.
All in all, this helped her become a powerful social media force.
Of course, it came with its fair share of drawbacks and Teigen repeatedly found herself being the victim of online abuse. At one point, things got so bad that she decided to quit Twitter altogether.
But now things have taken a dramatic turn as she, herself, has been accused of being the bully.
Fans have been left speechless after Courtney Stodden came out with some serious accusations against her, and it's been backed up by some damning tweets posted back in 2011 and 2012.
And not only that, but Stodden has also claimed that the model messaged them privately telling them to "kill themselves."
For those of you that might not be aware, Cortney Stodden rose to fame at the age of sixteen after they married fifty-year-old actor Doug Hutchison.
At the time, the media responded callously, s*ut-shaming them and also trivializing their abuse.
The pair got divorced last year, and Stodden has since opened up about the entire experience via Instagram saying: "I look back at this picture and feel absolutely taken advantage of."
Now, in a new interview with the Daily Beast, they delved deeper into the scandal.
They told everyone that during that early period, they received some horrible messages from other celebrities, including Chrissy Teigen who, publicly, and privately decided to tear down sixteen-year-old Stodden.
They said this:
"[Chrissy] wouldn't just publicly tweet about wanting me to take 'a dirt nap' but would privately DM me and tell me to kill myself. Things like, 'I can't wait for you to die,'" they alleged.
And this isn't the first time they've spoken out about this issue.
Just a few months ago, when Teigen left Twitter due to the intense amount of trolling she was getting, Stodden posted a video in which they slammed her as a "hypocrite."
The video has since been deleted.
"It was just so hypocritical of her," they said.
"I think, for me, because I experienced so much harassment and bullying from her when I was just sixteen years old, just seventeen years old, just eighteen years old, at a time when I needed help. Like, I was being abused."
"She has sent me so many different tweets. Private DMs, up 'til a couple years ago. It's so damaging when you have someone like Chrissy Teigen bullying children."
Even though the private DM allegations have not been confirmed, you only have to look on Twitter to see what Teigen was saying about Stodden.
I have never liked Chrissy teigen. I remember seeing all the Courtney stodden drama and being like wow this is horrible. To know now that Chrissy was bullying and sending death threats to a 16 year old who was getting groomed is absolutely disgusting. pic.twitter.com/YzLaNpfaXU— kitty (@turnipkween) May 11, 2021
She tweeted repeatedly about the teen, who is now twenty-six years old. At one point, she even told them to "go to sleep forever" which lines up with what they claimed was said in the private DMs.
Stodden also mentioned that the only person to apologize for their comments was Perez Hilton.
Pretty sure anyone else would have been banned by Twitter for targeted harassment but Chrissy Teigen got away with tormenting a teenager who never hurt a damn soul. pic.twitter.com/60mEohieL3— dailyL (@dailylaney) May 11, 2021
"You know, one of the biggest surprises is that all of the celebrities who shamed me — other than Perez Hilton, who stood up and was kind — they have not sought to apologize or sent any kind of love my way. The majority of love and apologies have come from reporters and also people online who tell me that they appreciate me and love me, and that I'm a source of strength for them. And that means everything to me."
Teigen has now spoken out about the situation.
In an extensive Twitter thread...
Not a lot of people are lucky enough to be held accountable for all their past bullshit in front of the entire world. I’m mortified and sad at who I used to be. I was an insecure, attention seeking troll. I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior but that...— chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) May 12, 2021
is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel. I have worked so hard to give you guys joy and be beloved and the feeling of letting you down is nearly unbearable, truly. These were not my only mistakes and surely won’t be my last as hard as I try but god I will try!!— chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) May 12, 2021
I have tried to connect with Courtney privately but since I publicly fueled all this, I want to also publicly apologize. I’m so sorry, Courtney. I hope you can heal now knowing how deeply sorry I am.— chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) May 12, 2021
And I am so sorry I let you guys down. I will forever work on being better than I was 10 years ago, 1 year ago, 6 months ago.— chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) May 12, 2021
