His last stint was back in 2019...

After that he made a powerful return to the stage.

Where he told fans: "When you fall down, get back up, everyone here has been through some s**t and you never know what God is willing to do for you until you need him to do something for you."

But over the weekend, tragic news emerged.

TMZ reports that recent tests proved there was "no improvement in brain activity" in the past week, and speculates his family will soon be faced with the decision as to whether to take him off of life support.

However, despite these reports, rumors have been circulating online in regards to the rapper's condition.

It was initially reported by some outlets that DMX had been taken off life support but his attorney Murray Richman later said he was misinformed, confirming he was still in "grave condition" after suffering a heart attack at home at around 11 pm on Friday 2 April.

In a statement issued by his family, they said: "We are issuing this statement to combat all the false and misleading reports that are circulating on social media."

"Last night Earl 'DMX' Simmons was rushed to the hospital after collapsing at home.

"At this time he remains in ICU in critical condition. Earl has been a warrior his entire life. This situation represents yet another road he must cross."

"The Simmons Family appreciates the overwhelming outpouring of heartfelt love, encouragement, support, and prayers for Earl. Earl is someone whose life and music has been a source of inspiration and strength to so many people around the world."

"It is reassuring to see his fans return that same passion and energy to him during his time of need."

However, some of the rumors caused some awkward moments online...

When it was initially said that he had been taken off of life support, the news spread like wildfire, leaving a lot of people confused about the situation.

Others started posting death tributes...

Including Dwayne Johnson, who believed the rumors at the time.

Posting to his Twitter account, he originally wrote this: "Hated hearing about DMX tonight."

He continued:

"Was hoping all week he'd pull thru. Rest easy king. You 'gave it to 'em.' Love, light and mana to your family."

But, as I mentioned previously, the news about being taken off of life support was false.

So this prompted Johnson to delete his tweet and post this instead: "Now I'm hearing different news. Hope I'm wrong."

One user decided to reply to the tweet with this savage and slightly unnecessary comment telling him not to "drink [too] much tequila bro."

They even screenshot and added a picture of his deleted tweet.

The internet really is a crazy place filled with a lot of contradicting information.

But right now, we need to focus on what's important. Our thoughts and prayers are with DMX. We really hope he manages to overcome this difficult time.
