Now, since marrying former actress, Meghan Markle, in 2018, Prince Harry has been thrown into the spotlight in ways he never imagined...

Along with his wife, of course.

The pair have since formally stepped down from their positions within the royal family...

And they are currently residing in Los Angeles where they're raising their son, Archie, and expecting their second child.

But they recently decided to speak out about their terrible experiences with the royal family and British press in the last few years...

To none other than Oprah Winfrey.

It's the interview that everyone has been talking about.

Their 2-hour-long interview aired on CBS on Sunday, March 7th and viewers watched on in shock as some mind-blowing allegations were made against the monarchy.

For example...

It was claimed that senior members of the family had refused to get Meghan professional help when she was experiencing suicidal thoughts during her pregnancy with Archie.

Meghan also addressed that incident with her sister-in-law, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton.

Headlines were made in 2018 when Meghan allegedly "made Kate cry" in a row about bridesmaids' dresses in the days before her and Harry's wedding - well, in her chat with Oprah, Meghan claimed that Kate was the one to make her cry.

Though she did stress that Kate had apologized and that she had "forgiven her."

She also addressed the ongoing issues of racism within the monarchy.

Meghan claimed an unnamed senior member of the Royal family raised "concerns" about how dark Archie's skin would be before his birth.

"In those months when I was pregnant, all around this same time, so we have in tandem the conversation of, 'you won't be given security, not gonna be given a title' and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he's born."

Harry then explained that he "had to get out," though when he did he was "cut off financially" when he and Meghan needed help the most...

He also added that they've since been relying on his inheritance from Princess Diana.

"I was totally cut off financially. My family cut me off – if I didn't have what my mom left me, we wouldn't have been able to do this. "All I wanted to do was keep my family safe."

Quite predictably, opinion was well and truly divided over the interview...

With a vast majority feeling sympathetic for Harry and Meghan over what they've allegedly endured in the last few years.

But on the other hand...

People have been slamming the pair for agreeing to take part in Oprah's interview and have even been brandishing them as "liars"... including Piers Morgan, of course!

It's undoubtedly caused a lot of drama...

And the couple have been the talk of the entire world in the last month since the interview aired.

But more recently, everyone has been distracted by the sad news that came on April 9th.

Getty

Harry's grandfather, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had passed away at the age of ninety-nine.

Philip's royal funeral went ahead on April 17th...

And the world watched on sadly as Queen Elizabeth sat by herself in Windsor Castle to say goodbye to her husband of seventy-three years due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Only thirty guests were allowed to attend.

Harry flew to London from Los Angeles to attend the funeral and pay his respects.

Meghan was strongly advised to not fly during her third trimester of pregnancy so she stayed in L.A with Archie and watched the funeral live from home.

It was reported that Harry had spent a few days in London before the funeral to try and break the ice with his estranged family members...

And much to the world's delight, Harry and William were seen walking together and chatting following the funeral service.

A source told The Sun:

"It's early days but you'd hope this is exactly the first step Philip would have wished for," and that "It is not known what was said behind closed doors and when the cameras were turned off," but "Harry and William appeared cordial as the cameras rolled and that seemed to pave the way for Charles to join them when everyone had left."

Is this a sign that the cracks in Harry's relationship with his family are finally on the mend?

Well, according to the Daily Mail, it's certainly not.

It has been reported that Harry faced "a great deal of frostiness" from the extended royal family since returning home to the U.K in the aftermath of his and Meghan's Oprah interview.

There are even claims that Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and Edward's wife Sophie did not acknowledge him before or during Philip's funeral service.

The royals haven't taken much accountability for Harry and Meghan's claims in the interview, and a source says "They [the royals] are still very upset. They are putting on a united front for the Queen. They all think he has behaved appallingly."

So, as you can see...

Harry's trip to London was a rather turbulent one.

And now, Paul Burrell - Princess Diana's former butler - has claimed that Harry has been left "torn" from his visit to the U.K.

Getty

The former butler, who worked for Diana for ten years and has known Harry since he was 3-years-old, said that his return to the UK "will have stirred up all kinds of painful emotions" in addition to the grief he feels at the loss of his grandfather.

In an interview with Closer, the royal insider said:

"Harry's world was torn apart when he left the U.K and moved to California last year - and now he's faced with the consequences. And in such devastating circumstances – to commemorate the loss of his grandpa."

He continued...

Getty

"Being back in the UK, seeing his family - the family he has criticized - is extremely difficult. Seeing his beloved granny, the Queen, and to face his father and brother would not be easy. Even submerging himself back into the House of Windsor and the buildings that hold so many memories."

Burrell then mentioned how difficult it would have been for Harry to be back in Windsor Castle, where he and Meghan got married.

Getty

"The chapel - the same chapel where he married Meghan almost three years ago in very different circumstances. It will have stirred up all kinds of painful emotions for him. He will really have felt the impact of the decision he's made now and it'll hit home."

He added that Meghan will need to prepare for Harry's return to the U.S, stating "His heart is on 2 different sides of the Atlantic now."

Getty

"Meghan will be faced with that dilemma – the bombshell that Harry now feels split in 2. Meghan will believe that what they've done is right – but Harry will be feeling totally torn and so things will now have to change. She will have to figure out what their next steps will be. Those 2 – from different worlds – are going to have to work it out to align themselves.".
