Jaden Smith Restaurant Where Homeless People Can Eat Free | 22 Words

It seems as if Jaden Smith is taking a step down from acting and is stepping into a more humanitarian role as it has been announced he is opening a restaurant where homeless people can eat for free...

And the philanthropist has said his goal is to provide "healthy, vegan food for free."

But it seems the move has seriously divided opinions online. Here's the full story...

Now, we all know Jaden Smith as the son of Hollywood legend Will Smith...

And the young man has gone on to build quite the life for himself.

His first acting role came in 2006 when he co-starred in The Pursuit of Happyness alongside his father...

Columbia Pictures

Although Jaden would later reveal that his early stardom and celebrity status led to him being isolated from having a normal childhood - being homeschooled also contributed to this isolation.

Nevertheless, Jaden went on to pursue a career in acting...

Columbia Pictures

Starring in huge productions such as The Karate Kid alongside Jackie Chan (2010), After Earth (2013), and The Good Lord Bird (2014).

Jaden then took a short break from acting to pursue a career in music...

And has since released numerous mixtapes and albums, including Cool Tape Vol. 2, The Cool Cafe, and Cool Tape Vol. 3, and Syre.

He has also worked alongside many major figures in the industry, including the likes of Justin Bieber, J. Cole, Yung Thug, and EarthGang.

The twenty-two-year-old has also explored the world of fashion over the years...

And he raised controversy in 2016 after modeling in a womenswear campaign for Louis Vuitton wearing a skirt. Explaining his choice to wear a skirt, Jaden explained that he was attempting to combat bullying, saying:

"In 5 years, when a kid goes to school wearing a skirt, he won't get beat up and kids won't get mad at him."

But wearing a skirt hasn't been the only controversy Jaden has caused.

Alongside being an avid conspiracy theorist, Jaden has ruffled quite a few feathers in the past over his comments about topics such as seeking emancipation from his family and criticism of traditional education and schools.

In 2013, he suggested that all young people should drop out of school in a thread of bizarre tweets...

And he claimed that if newborn babies could speak, they would be "the most intelligent beings on Planet Earth."

Jaden clearly has a lot of very specific ideas about our society...

And while many seem extreme and, quite frankly, unrealistic, some of his ideas have actually made quite an amazing difference.

Jaden is a partner in the spring water company, Just Water...

A company that has been attempting to create a water filtration system that's cheap and can be used in poorer areas and nations. It also wants to help with water infrastructure and to create more environmentally friendly construction methods by producing its own drywall.

Jaden also launched The Water Box: a filtration system that helps provide water to areas that struggle to obtain the necessary resource...

Marking his latest philanthropist project.

But 2 years ago, Jaden launched his I Love You food truck initiative...

A venture that strives to make vegan food accessible to low-income communities around the United States - in particular, Los Angeles.

Last year, Jaden spoke with Complex about how his I Love You initiative needed to switch up its approach when it came to lending a helping hand in wake of the pandemic.

Instead of the food truck, Jaden and his team worked out a way to send care packages to Skid Row that included food, masks, clothes, and hand sanitizer.

"At any moment, we can create a new version of the world," he said, "I have a belief that the next thing that changes everything for everyone can be around the corner."

But now, it seems as if Jaden has more plans for his initiative...

And people are seriously impressed over his plans on helping and feeding the homeless community.

But others aren't so optimistic...

It has been reported that Jaden is planning on opening a restaurant that will feed homeless people free of charge.

With the I Love You restaurant, Jaden wants those who can afford to pay for their meal to spend a little more as a means of paying it forward to the next person in need.

"But if you're not homeless, not only do you have to pay, but you have to pay for more than the food's worth so that you can pay for the person behind you," he explained.

What do you think about Jaden's new initiative?
