McRae was born in Memphis, Tenessee, in 1944.
And surprisingly began his career in the NFL, playing for the Chicago Bears 1967.
He then began acting in 1972.
But he's undeniably best known for his role as James Bond's friend Sharkey in 1989's Licence to Kill.
McRae died at home in Santa Monica on April 29, his daughter-in-law confirmed to Variety.
His cause of death was a heart attack.
He was seventy-seven years old.
Rest in peace.
