In the latest of the Britney Spears saga, the star and her younger sister Jamie Lynn have been seemingly feuding on Instagram in the last week. However, when Jamie Lynn quickly edited her recent shady caption, Britney hit back in full force with a scathing message of her own.
The whole thing began at the end of June when Britney came forward during her conservatorship court statement saying she wished she could sue her whole family who "did nothing to help" her while she struggled under the terms of her conservatorship.
"I would honestly like to sue my family, to be totally honest with you," Britney said during her court testimony in June. "I also would like to be able to share my story with the world, and what they did to me, instead of it being a hush-hush secret to benefit all of them... I'm told I'm not allowed to expose the people who did this to me."
Britney's fans, many of whom fall under the hashtag #FreeBritney, strongly believed the star's comments surrounding her family - including younger sister Jamie Lynn.
Shortly after the testimony was released and shocked the world, Jamie Lynn took to Instagram to deny her involvement in the conservatorship, instead of supporting the narrative that she "adored and supported" her sister.
"Maybe I didn't support her the way the public would like me to, with a hashtag on a public platform," Jamie said. "But I can assure you that I've supported my sister long before there was a hashtag, and I'll support her long after."
However, in a staggering turn, Britney later shut down Jamie Lynn's claims in an Instagram post where she called out her family for not being supportive until after her statement.
"How dare the people you love the most say anything at all — did they even put a hand out to lift me up at the TIME!!!???" she wrote. "How dare you make it public that NOW you CARE — did you put your hand out when I was drowning??? Again, NO."
Britney then posted a second post not long after, which seemed to directly address her thirty-year-old sister: "I don't like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes. My so-called support system hurt me deeply. This conservatorship killed my dreams."
The "Oops I did it again" singer was referring to Jamie Lynn performing a remix of her songs at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards.
Well, Jamie Lynn appears to have now responded to Britney's posts, with her own shady caption: "May the peace of the Lord be with you, and your spirit," Jamie's caption read, alongside the peace sign and heart emojis.
Britney shortly came back and responded with her scolding caption under a video of her dancing in her front room, something she does often: "May the Lord wrap your mean ass up in joy today."
However, after Britney's post received mass support from fans and other celebrities, Jamie Lynn seemed to edit her caption, removing the words so just the emojis remained and then turned off comments on the post entirely.
Britney's fans noticed the change and took to Twitter to continue to voice their support for the star. "The fact that Jamie Lynn changed the caption in less than 5 minutes after Britney posted this, she's obsessed, she must be refreshing Britney's Insta page every few seconds," one fan tweeted.
Britney seems to have also edited her caption since the feud and charging forward with the court trials to have her "abusive" conservatorship removed, which has been a part of her life since 2008.
