First Lady Dr. Jill Biden will appear on the front cover of Vogue Magazine this month.
It comes following a 4-year hiatus of first ladies appearing on the cover of the magazine. Melania Trump was not featured on the cover during her time as the first lady, despite it become an American publishing tradition over the last several decades.
In the stunning picture, which was taken this spring at the White House, Dr. Biden can be seen posing while leaning on the balcony overlooking the South Lawn. She is reportedly wearing a navy, floral Oscar de la Renta dress.
Alongside her cover, Dr. Biden spoke with writer Jonathan Van Meter, CNN reports.
In her interview, Dr. Biden spoke to Van Meter about all that she wants to tackle now that she is the first lady.
"When I became second lady - and there was so much I wanted to do - I always said, 'I will never waste this platform.' And now, I have a bigger platform and I feel every day, like... what could I give up? That I would want to give up? Nothing."
The first lady also revealed in the interview that she believes the nation's emotions have changed since President Biden came into office. She described the feeling as people being able to "breathe again."
"During the campaign, I felt so much anxiety from people; they were scared. When I travel around the country now, I feel as though people can breathe again," she said.
"I think that's part of the reason Joe was elected. People wanted someone to come in and heal this nation, not just from the pandemic, which I feel Joe did by, you know, getting shots in everybody's arms.
"He's just a calmer president. He lowers the temperature."
President Biden was also interviewed by Van Meter. In his separate interview, Biden opened up about his marriage since moving into the White House.
"I miss her. I'm really proud of her. But it's not like we can just go off like we used to," the president said.
"When we were living in Delaware and married, once a month we'd just go up to a local bed-and-breakfast by ourselves, to make sure we had a romantic time to just get away and hang out with each other.
"We have to figure out a way - and I mean this sincerely - to be able to steal time for one another. I think that's the deal."
The issue of Vogue featuring Dr. Biden goes on sale on July 20th.
