KFC Is Opening a Hotel | 22 Words

The world pretty much universally adores KFC. But for uberfans of the fried chicken restaurant, there's been an exciting development this week because a pop-up hotel designed for the ultimate chicken lovers is opening... and each room will come with an instant "press for chicken" button!

A one-night stay will cost $154, but there are far more benefits to that price. In fact, if guests take full advantage of the KFC on offer, they can reportedly eat up to $139 of free chicken during their stay.

"House of Harland" hotel would open in London for eleven nights between August 18th and 29th, according to the fast-food chain's press release. And as any KFC superfan could tell you, Harland is a reference to Harland Sanders, the Colonel behind the original restaurant, while the eleven nights is a nod to the famous eleven herbs and spices that makes the brand's chicken so distinctive.

A black Cadillac, which KFC calls the "Colonelmobile," will collect guests to bring them to the hotel where they'll be greeted by their own personal "chick in clerk."

"Once escorted to number 11, indulge in the complimentary botanical infused self-care essentials, or catch one of the chick-flicks playing in the cinema room. Expect to see drumsticks in the detail, from bedding to wallpaper to an Arcade Machine and towel – fried chicken will never be far from your thoughts," the press release continues. "Worried you'll get peckish? Us too. A chicken concierge service will be at your fingertips (literally) with a press for chicken button, meaning a succulent treat will always be within reach."

But what makes this trip even more special is that it has a good cause at its heart. All the money raised from the promotion will go toward the KFC Foundation, "supporting grassroots organizations across the country who are empowering young people to unleash their potential and build a positive future."

People are pretty excited about the new hotel. "Wow I have to try this people just to see it!" wrote one Facebook fan. Another agreed, adding: "This is innovation at its finest." However, not everyone is so keen. "The pop-up Taco Bell hotel looked like a lot of fun. Bar, pool, the works. Plus I could live on Taco Bell food. KFC I can handle about twice a year. I can't imagine eating it 2-3 days straight," wrote one skeptic.

The House of Harland will be hosted at 9a Club Row, London E1 6JX, and guests can book right now through Hotels.com. Are you tempted to take a trip? Or do you know a fried chicken fan who would be?
