Kris Jenner Finally Breaks Silence on Kim and Kanye Divorce

We're all aware that the last year hasn't at all been easy for Kim Kardashian and her husband, Kanye West.

For one, Kanye's alarming presidential campaign put a huge strain on the relationship!

And not to mention Kim's controversial birthday bash...

Fans were less than impressed when the beauty mogul jetted off with Kanye, friends and family to a private island in the middle of a pandemic. Who could forget the bizarre hologram of Kim's late father that Kanye also organized?!

Things haven't seemed great for the pair for a while...

But now, it seems that her husband's behavior has gotten a little bit too much for Kim.

Now, where do we begin when it comes to Kanye's behavior?

Kanye West has never been afraid of letting his opinion be known and, throughout the years, he has been in and out of the headlines for his strange and eye-opening antics.

But, last year, he had his sights set upon one thing.

On July 4th, he suddenly revealed that he would be running for president.

In the last couple of years, Kanye has been dabbling in and out of the world of American politics.

Back in 2018, Kanye, who is an avid Trump supporter, sat down with the president in the Oval Office where he proclaimed his support and declared Trump a “hero" in a bizarre, rambling televised monologue that spawned myriad parodies.

But, on July 4th, he took things to the next level.

Taking to Twitter, Kanye wrote: "We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision, and building our future. I am running for president of the United States! #2020Vision."

Despite teasing the idea for years...

Nobody ever thought that he'd actually do it. Also, what happened to having an education and experience in politics before you could even think about being president?

But, regardless of the haters, the rapper was deadset on his "2020 vision"...

And in July, he hosted his first-ever campaign rally.

However, his first campaign proved to be an extremely chaotic and alarming experience.

Kanye, who was clad in a bullet-proof vest with the numbers "2020" shaved into his head, threw his rally in Charleston, South Carolina, where he seemed to whip up various policy decisions right there on the spot... including humiliating his wife and family in the process!

He firstly disclosed how he and Kim had discussed the possibility of abortion when she found out she was pregnant with North...

And, even though it is more than likely that Kim did not give her permission to Kanye to disclose this private information, he didn't seem to care.

He acknowledged that Kim may file for divorce following his revelation...

But, again, he didn't seem to care. "So even if my wife were to divorce me after this speech, she brought North into the world, even when I didn't want to. She stood up, and she protected that child."

Kanye was crying so hard, it was difficult to understand what he was saying...

The man was clearly in a lot of pain which arose a lot of concern about him running for president.

Kim was soon forced to address her husband's erratic behavior...

And she posted a lengthy Instagram story explaining how difficult it is to live with bipolar disorder and how she will do anything to protect her husband and her children.

But the one thing about Kim's statement that really stood out for fans was when she described her family as being "powerless" against Kanye.

"Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor," she said.

It was an understandably terrible time for Kanye and his family...

So his supporters weren't surprised when he stepped down from his campaign and took some time to reconcile with his family.

Kanye ended up actually running as a vice-presidential candidate for the American Independent Party.

The rapper took to Twitter to share a photo of a ballot card with his name scrawled under the write-in section, along with the caption: "Friends writing me in."

And in perhaps the most Kanye West move of 2020, the rapper then revealed that he had voted for someone he "truly trusts"...

Himself.

He shared this video of his ballot paper being submitted...

All while revealing that it was the "first vote of his life."

And then Kanye admitted defeat.

His presidential campaign came to an end after 60,000 votes were counted across twelve states and Joe Biden was declared as the official winner. But this didn't leave the rapper disheartened, as he strongly suggested that he'd be re-running for president in 2024.

And alongside all of the chaos, Kim's overall response to Kanye's consistently erratic behavior had fans concerned...

With many doubting whether the pair's marriage could survive this next year.

And it seems these concerns were founded.

When a source revealed that the pair were contemplating getting a divorce after months of speculation... and it had everyone on the internet talking.

And then it turned out that Kim was well and truly "done."

With TMZ eventually confirming that Kim has filed for divorce.

Now, Kris Jenner has finally broken her silence.

Announcing that it's going to be hard for the couple and the family as a whole.

"I think it's always going to be hard any time...you know, there's a lot of kids."

She continued:

The good thing about our family is that we are there for each other and supportive and we love each other very, very much—so all I want is for those two kids to be happy. And I want the kids to be happy. That's the goal. I think we all want that for our families, just to be able to have...the love and appreciation of one another and just that everyone's okay.

Kris added that you might see more about the divorce in the season finale, however she said she isn't 100% herself...
