But make it work, they do. | 22 Words

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard have cemented themselves as one of the most iconic couples around and for good reason too - they may be extremely famous, but they manage to still be so relatable.

And their latest admission might just be their best yet...

Now, Kristen and Dax have long being known for being the definition of couple goals.

They're incredibly cute together, and can often be spotted in adorably intimate public displays of affection.

They've always avoided becoming a boring married couple.

They're very open about how they want to remain young and fun, even as they grow old together. Adorable.

But that isn't to say that they make it look easy.

What's fantastic about Shepard and Bell is how open they are about how much work it takes to make a successful marriage.

The couple are open about both marriage and parenthood.

And, though they make both look like great fun, they also admit that it's not always rosy - in fact, the pair have admitted to being enrolled in couple's therapy to make sure that they make it work.

But make it work, they do.

And talking about the difficulties of marriage and parenthood only serve to normalize these issues and make everyone feel a bit better about their imperfect lives.

Shepard has also been open about other struggles...

He's claimed, that from the age of just eighteen until the year 2004, he struggled on and off with substance abuse. He's now clean and living his best life.

And Bell has always been supportive of his journey.

Having an addict partner is never easy, so we take our hats off to Bell for constantly standing by Shepard's side. Honestly, these 2 are just the best.

And just to prove just how amazing they really are...

We've compiled a list of some of their realest moments.

1. Fights.

Bell once revealed that she and her husband had gotten into a fight so intense that they both "blacked out" and then decided to adopt a dog afterwards just to make it up to each other. Aw!

2. Funny Memories.

And who could ever forget the moment that Shepard laughed at Bell as she cried at their wedding?

3. Product Placement.

Or that time that Bell publicly called out her man for his horrible organizing skills - it was the debate of 2017.

4. Pruney Fingers.

One of the best moments has to be the one where Shepard blasted his wife for wearing gloves in the pool.

5. When?

An iconic moment in their relationship has to be the time that they both forgot their wedding anniversary but their response was actually the best part. They said, "when you are living with gratitude each moment, the dates become irrelevant."

6. Hot.

Couples that spice together, stay together. This was a hilarious moment!

7. "Sober birthday."

Kristen's posts on Dax's "sober birthday" are always so lovely and heartfelt.

8. Thoughtful.

Remember when Shepard told us that he turned down his role in Parenthood because it would mean moving away from Kristen? That's so cute!

9. Therapy.

A raw moment in their relationship has to be when Dax revealed that the two "coexist" mainly because of "therapy" and "hard work."

10. Quits.

We were also given a little insight into their relationship when Bell revealed that Shephard had initially broken up with her to "date other people" but returned with his tail between his legs only 4 days later!

11. Activists.

They even waited until same-sex marriage was legalized in California before they got married themselves. Wow. What a couple.

12. Dates.

Bell posted this on Instagram captioning it "Date Night" but Dax immediately commented on it saying "What are you talking about? We're in bed." That's couple goals right there, roasting each other online.

And now, once again, the pair have proven they're the most relatable celebrity couple.

Speaking to The Motherly Podcast, Bell explained the unique way she and Shepard get over their fights.

"We'll come home, we'll be tense with each other, we'll snap at each other in the kitchen — not realizing they're witnessing it."

"We put them to bed, we go into the bedroom, and just privately we'll say, 'God, I'm sorry I snapped at you, I've had a really tough day."

"So [Dax] said, let's make a deal that whenever we make up behind closed doors, that we role-play the next morning."

"Every time we're testy with each other, the next morning I'll say, 'Good morning, Daddy — I just wanted to say, last night, I had a really long day and I'm sorry that I snapped at you about, you know, not having the dinner that you wanted.'"

"And he would say, 'Yeah, Mommy, you're right, I had a hard day too, and I'm really sorry.' And then we physically kiss and hug."

"You can't give anything to your child that you don't have yourself."

We love you guys.
