Logan Williams' cause of death has finally been confirmed by a coroner, over a year after his tragic passing.
The sixteen-year-old died in April 2020 with a preliminary toxicology report released the following month.
However, an official cause of death has now been determined by Canada's BC Coroners Service.
Obtained by the New York Post, the coroner's report stated that the teen had died from an "unintentional illicit dr*g toxicity (f*ntanyl)" with the situation being classified as "accidental."
"Toxicological analysis detected f*ntanyl in a range where lethal outcomes have been reported," the coroner's report said. "Even small amounts of f*ntanyl have been shown to be potentially toxic."
The report stated that Williams had "struggled with mental health concerns and had a history of consuming illicit substances."
The report also added that Williams previously became unresponsive back in February 2020, after consuming different substances. Williams was resuscitated, but as result was "diagnosed with a significant brain injury that affected his memory and functioning."
He was discharged the following month.
Recounting the circumstances of his death, the report added that Logan had left residential care and was reported missing to authorities on April 1st.
He eventually returned back to the residential care, where he went to bed after appearing "agitated and under the influence of a substance."
Staff members at the residence then "conducted hourly checks" on the late actor.
They later tried to wake Williams but found "he was unresponsive and not breathing."
When medical assistance arrived at the scene, they "did not attempt resuscitation as it was apparent that Logan was deceased. Dr*g paraphernalia was located near to Logan's body."
At the time, a police investigation was ordered into the circumstances of Williams' death. However, it was concluded as "not suspicious."
In an interview with the NY Post back in May 2020, William's mom, Marlyse Williams, vowed to bring awareness to the casual use of opi*ids.
"His death is not going to be in vain," she said. "He's going to help a lot of people down the road."
Rest in peace, Logan Williams. Our thoughts and prayers are with the young star's family and friends.
