A man has accidentally shot and injured himself while showing off his gun at a bar in Florida.
Twenty-eight-year-old Carlos Feituuaki Tuifua shot himself when he pulled out his gun inside of the O'Riley's Uptown Tavern in Pensacola, on Thursday evening, WEAR-TV reports.
The incident saw Tuifua shoot himself in the torso after showing his gun to 2 people.
Warren Sonnen, a manager at O'Riley's Uptown Tavern, allowed the Pensacola News Journal to view security footage from the incident.
The footage, which shows the shooting occurred at 11:01 p.m, sees Tuifua sitting at the bar with another man and a woman. They are said to be engrossed in conversation when minutes later Tuifua uses his right hand to pull out a handgun.
He shows it to the other two people for a number of seconds in what appear to be him showing it off, before he makes a terrible mistake...
Tuifua makes a motion as if he were to put the gun into an invisible holster beneath his left shoulder, but as he does that, he instead discharges the weapon.
Tuifua discharges it while it is pointed at himself, consequently shooting himself in the upper torso.
Just moments after shooting himself, Tuifua left the bar.
Sonnen, a manager at the bar, also told the News Journal he thought it was "completely by accident."
"I don't know if he was pretending to be a badass or something," Sonnen said. "But from what I can tell, it was completely by accident."
Tuifua is said, by police, to have checked himself into a hospital after the incident to have his injury looked at.
While at hospital, the police were able to contact Tuifua and following that he was arrested at his home.
Mr Tuifua has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and improper exhibition of a weapon, WEAR-TV has reported.
It comes as the US has seen increased gun violence over recent years.
