Man Arrested for Riding in Backseat of Driverless Tesla | 22 Words

A man who was recently arrested for riding in the backseat of a driverless Tesla has reoffended by buying yet another Tesla...

Because, according to him, he has "unlimited money" to spend on Teslas.

Here's the full, and very bizarre, story...

Now, we all know that Telsa is the creator of some of the most sought-after cars in the world...

And the multi-billion dollar electric vehicle company is known for its state-of-the-art cars, trucks, energy storage, and solar panels, as well as many other related products and services.

Teslas CEO, Elon Musk, has many ambitious plans for his pioneering company...

Including the prospect of driverless cars.

According to Tesla's website, all new Tesla cars come standard with advanced hardware capable of providing Autopilot features today...

And full self-driving capabilities in the future.

The majority of Tesla cars currently have lane centering, traffic-aware cruise control, self-parking...

As well as automatic lane changes, semi-autonomous navigation on limited-access freeways, and the ability to summon the car from a garage or parking spot. ‚Äč

The company claims these intelligent features reduce accidents caused by driver negligence and fatigue from long-term driving...

But since the advanced autopilot was launched, things haven't exactly been smooth sailing.

Last month, 2 men in Texas were killed after a Tesla they were in crashed and caught fire...

But neither of the men were behind the wheel, authorities confirmed to the New York Times.

Physical evidence from the scene and interviews with witnesses led officials "to believe no one was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash."

The vehicle, a 2019 Model S, was going at a "high rate of speed" around a curve when it veered off the road at around 100 feet and hit a tree, Harris County Constable Mark Herman said.

He said that minutes before the crash, the men's wives watched them leave in the Tesla after they said they wanted to go for a drive and were talking about the vehicle's Autopilot feature.

It's an utterly tragic situation...

But it's also an incredibly dangerous one - what does this say about Tesla's Autopilot feature?!

Well, it seems as if one extremely wealthy man from San Fransisco isn't at all phased by the dangers posed by Tesla's Autopilot!

Param Sharma was recently arrested for riding in the back seat of his Tesla as it drove on the highway but instead of learning his lesson, he simply went and bought another Tesla to pull the same risky stunt.

Of course, the man's arrogance has certainly ruffled a few feathers...

Facebook

According to Business Insider, the California Highway Patrol said Sharma had been arrested for reckless driving and disobeying a police officer.

The arrest came after videos circulated online of Sharma riding down the highway in the back seat.

He had been cited for the same offense in April, police said.

After getting booked on 2 counts of reckless driving, Sharma arrived for an interview with the Bay Area news station KTVU on Wednesday...

Riding in the back seat of a Tesla... again.

But it wasn't the same car that California Highway Patrol pulled him over in.

The day after being released from jail on Tuesday, Sharma bought a new Tesla Model 3 because the other was impounded.

Also, he is "very rich," he told KTVU.

"I have unlimited money to blow on Teslas. If you take away my Tesla, I will get another Tesla. That's how it works."

Sharma then told KTVU he bought a Tesla with the Full Self-Driving package but seemed overly confident in the feature's abilities - although the company has urged drivers in the past to not fully rely on the Autopilot and self-driving feature.

So, it seems as if Sharma won't be learning his lesson any time soon! For more news, scroll on...
