A man was left shocked and frightened after finding a rag doll holding a sinister note inside the wall of his new home and let's just say, I won't be getting any sleep tonight after hearing this story...
Jonathan Lewis, from the United Kingdom, was in for a fright after he stumbled upon a doll that had been put into the cavity of a wall in his new home.
The thirty-two-year-old made the mistake of investigating a hole that had been boarded up under the stairs. He took some tools and pulled back the barrier only to see a mysterious rag doll clutching a note stuffed within it.
The note in its hands said how it had "stabbed" the original owners of the property all the way back in 1961.
"Dear reader/ new home owner, thank you for freeing me! My name is Emily. My original owners lived in this house in 1961. I didn't like them so they had to go," it read.
"All they did was sing and be merry. It was sickening. Stabbing was my choice of death for them so I hope you have knives."
The sinister note ended: "Hope you sleep well."
As scary as this could have been, the dates, times, and conditions just didn't match the story on the note, so Jonathan assumed someone's playing a cruel prank on him.
Not only did his estate agent tell him that the kitchen had been re-done approximately 5 years ago, the homeowner realized the paper used to write the note looked in pretty good shape too, not something you'd expect if it had been sitting there since 1961.
Overall, he told local news outlet, Liverpool Echo, that it was a "hilarious" discovery, even despite his friends telling him to put the house back on the market.
"Some of my friends have told me to put my house back on the market and move out but I think it's just a laugh," he said. "I'll be honest, I found the whole thing hilarious. I'd probably do the exact same thing."
Each to their own, but personally, I wouldn't take the chance of being possessed by a rag-doll in a pinstripe skirt and pig-tales. Na-uh. No thank you.
