In the aftermath of last week's chaos, another arrest has been made...

But, this time of a man who gave a TV interview just last week about the riots.

Now, where do we even start when it comes to the Capitol Hill riots?

It all started on January 6th when President Donald Trump held a "Save America" rally in Washington D.C, just a few miles away from the White House.

Thousands of his eager supporters were there listening to and latching on to every word that came out of Trump's mouth.

Trump's refusal to concede to the winner of the 2020 election, Joe Biden, seems to have fuelled the anger amongst his supporters...

And right now, the overwhelming presence of far-right extremists is more apparent than ever.

The president repeatedly told his crowd that he was "the real winner" and how they need to "take the election back"...

Before finally telling them to "go down to the Capitol building" and "fight like hell for our country."

He even said he'd be there alongside them which, of course, he didn't mean literally.

This resulted in thousands of his supporters, all armed with MAGA merchandise and Trump flags, storming down to the U.S Capitol building and breaking in...

Were hell was well and truly unleashed.

A joint session of Congress was underway to certify Joe Biden's election win when the rioters made their way into the building.

Thankfully, all members of the House and staff were safely evacuated but this didn't mean things were over.

People began smashing down windows and doors, looting valuable items, and even breaking into Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's office and taking some of her personal posessions.

And to make things even more terrifying...

Text messages were later discovered from one of the rioters describing his plans to "shoot and run over" Nancy Pelosi.

Thankfully, these terrible plans didn't go ahead - but it just goes to show the alarming ideologies and ambitions held by many of the people present on that day.

5 people tragically died as a result of the riots...

And more than sixty police officers and security guards were greatly injured from trying to stop the violent rioters and get them out of the building.

The scenes were truly apocalyptic...

And President Trump was called on again and again to issue a televised statement telling his supporters to put an end to the violence.

In the end, he issued a series of small tweets where he reminded the rioters that the police and law enforcement was "on our side," and to "remain peaceful."

He eventually tweeted a video telling his supporters to "go home"...

All while reminding them that they're "very special" and that he "loves them."

Of course, this wasn't taken well by the very shaken-up members of Congress and it really didn't help that Trump was refusing to take responsibility for the riots.

The president's reluctance to take responsibility then lead to him being suspended indefinitely from all major social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram...

Of course, we all know how much Trump loved to run his mouth on Twitter, so this was a huge deal.

Things just seemed to be getting worse and worse for Trump...

And alongside hundreds of his supporters being arrested and charged for their involvement in the riots, Congress were having some serious talks about what to do about his lack of concern over the violence caused by his army of followers.

And, on the afternoon of January 13th, President Trump was officially impeached, making him the only president in U.S history to be impeached more than once.

The final vote was 232-197, as per The Guardian, though the matter is yet to go before the Senate which will decide whether he should be convicted and removed from office.

Trump broke his silence just hours after the House of Representatives charged him with inciting an insurrection against the government by releasing a speech - all while reversing his tone about the crisis.

In the prerecorded remarks, posted late on Wednesday afternoon, he "unequivocally condemn[ed]" last week's deadly riot at the Capitol and went on to call for cooler heads and cooler words and a sense of national unity to prevail.

"Violence and vandalism have absolutely no place in our country and no place in our movement. 'Making America great again' has always been about defending the rule of law, supporting the men and women of law enforcement, and upholding our nation's most sacred traditions and values. Mob violence goes against everything I believe in and everything our movement stands for."

In the aftermath of the deadly riots, several arrests have been made by the FBI.

Including that of Thomas Baranyi from New Jersey.

Baranyi made headlines last week for witnessing the fatal shooting of a Trump supporter at the Capitol riots...

And then appearing on TV to recount his experience.

"We tore through the scaffolding, threw flash bangs and tear gas, and blitzed our way in through all the chambers," Baranyi told one reporter as he left the scene.

"It was a joke to them until we got inside, and then guns came out. But we're at a point now, it can't be allowed to stand. We have to do something. People have to do something."

He went on to claim he was standing beside Ashli Babbitt when she was fatally shot by Capitol police.

"We had stormed in the chambers inside and there was a young lady who rushed through the windows," he recalled.

"A number of police and Secret Service were saying 'get back, get down and get out of the way.'"

"She didn't heed the call and as we raced up to grab people and pull them back, they shot her in the neck."

But, by going on the record, Baranyi also exposed himself publically as one of the rioters.

An FBI agent has stated that Baranyi was quickly identified after recounting his experience in an interview with local station WKRG.

According to reports, he has since been charged with disorderly conduct and violent entry of a restricted building.
