In their most recent statement, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seem to have made a subtle dig at the royal family between all the pleasantries.
This week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a message on their Archewell website urging their fans to be "compassionate" and listen to others with "open ears."
These statements have been taken as subtle insults towards the royal family as the Sussexes previously claimed they didn't get such treatment with the royals.
The statement read: "Our mission at Archewell is to drive systemic, cultural change — one act of compassion at a time. We believe that compassion is at the core of all cultures and connections in this world. It shows up in all of our interactions with people and enriches our lives and the lives of those around us."
They continued: "To us, compassion means more than the dictionary definition, it means listening with open ears to the suffering and celebrations of communities and people beyond ourselves.
"It means taking the time to understand their perspectives, experiences, and needs based on what they say, rather than assuming what they need. It means uplifting diverse voices and giving a platform to people to share their stories, it means taking that newfound understanding and empathy and channeling it into action for people who need it the most."
In conclusion, the couple added: "Each time someone conducts an act of compassion — whether it's mentoring a young woman or holding space for someone having a difficult day — our world becomes a better place.
"Compassion is at the core of everything we do. We hope you'll join us in building a better world, one act of compassion at a time."
The statement angered some fans of the royals, with many taking to Twitter to express their views.
"Never-ending trouble these two" one said, while another added: "It's a shame they can't show compassion!!!!"
Since stepping back from royal duties in January 2020, Meghan and Harry have seemingly been in the media while consistently slandering the royal family. Back in March, the couple famously sat down with talk show host Oprah Winfrey for an explosive interview about why they made the decision to quit their royal roles and their relationships with Harry's family.
During the interview, Harry claimed Prince Charles, his father, cut him off financially when they left the U.K, leaving them to rely on the inheritance Harry had after his mother, Princess Diana died in 1997.
It is believed there is much tension between Harry, Charles, and Prince William which was noted during the funeral of Prince Philip in April.
Megan also accused the royals of racism and said that after she claimed she was having suicidal thoughts, the royals weren't prepared to offer the help she needed. Subsequently, the couple moved to Los Angeles with their son Archie Harrison and their newborn baby Lilibet Diana, who was born at the beginning of June.
Do you think Meghan and Harry's statement contained subtle insults towards the royals or not?
