Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have recently donated dozens of packets of diapers to a charity specifically for homeless pregnant women.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex organized for a bunch of different Papers products to be delivered to Harvest Home, a charity based in Los Angeles. The move was in partnership with Procter & Gamble, with who the couple has agreed to a multi-year, global partnership. The announcement of the collaboration was made back in May, and since then, this has been their first official project together.
Their focus has always been on "gender equality" and the foundation's existing work with Girls Inc., Harvest Home, and the National Women's Law Center to "elevate the voices of adolescent girls to ensure their point of view and lived experience is heard at the tables where decisions are made."
They will also be "undertaking a joint effort in support of building a better online environment that unlocks positive, compassionate, and creative spaces" and overall, the initiative will be "focused on doing more (and doing better, together) for communities, for equality, and for our global collective wellbeing—one compassionate act at a time."
Posting on Instagram, Harvest Home seemed to be delighted with the donation.
"Pallets and pallets of diapers... we are so grateful!" they wrote. "These diapers recently arrived at our new Pico-Robertson Home and we could not be more thankful to Archewell Foundation, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and @proctergamble and @pampersus for the incredible donation through their Million Acts of Love Campaign.
"Thank you helping us ensure our resident and alumnae families' needs are met!"
Harvest Home helps transform the lives of women who have no one else to turn to in the area. The organization is currently launching a second home that will offer up to eighteen living quarters for mothers and their babies.
Comments from delighted fans have been pouring in ever since the charity posted the photo to Instagram.
"This is lovely," wrote one user.
"This is so great! Congratulations and thank you for the amazing work you do!" added another.
"An amazingly kind gesture from Archewell Foundation and Procter & Gamble," said a third.
The news comes just shortly after the Duchess of Sussex announced that she will be taking the time to focus on a side project that involves "creating and producing" a Netflix series that focuses on a "twelve-year-old heroine who finds inspiration in influential women from history."
In a statement, Markle spoke of the newest venture, saying: "Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to overcome life's daily challenges."
She added: "I'm thrilled that Archewell Productions, partnered with the powerhouse platform of Netflix, and these incredible producers, will together bring you this new animated series, which celebrates extraordinary women throughout history."
