Evidently in the belief that every celebrity should take a stab at the White House at some point in their lives, former president Donald Trump has this week expressed his hopes for a potential 2024 presidential campaign for Meghan Markle...
Because, according to him, it would benefit his own reelection efforts greatly.
I know, just when you thought his attempts to get back into the White House couldn't get any more bizarre.
Read on to watch the clip and hear what he had to say...
Now, it's no secret that Trump isn't Meghan Markle's biggest fan.
He has spoken out against the actress-turned-Duchess of Sussex in the past, including when he famously called her "nasty" in 2019.
Of course, Trump profusely denied this...
Despite the fact that an audio recording of him actually saying it had been obtained and revealed by the British tabloid, The Sun.
In the incriminating audio, when told that Meghan "wasn't so nice" about him during his 2016 presidential campaign, he could be heard responding:
"I didn't know that. What can I say? I didn't know that she was nasty."
And more recently, following Meghan's explosive tell-all interview with Oprah, wherein she made several accusations of racism and lack of support against the British monarchy and press...
Rumors of Trump's stance on the matter were quick to circulate online.
Initially, Trump - quite wisely - remained tight-lipped on the matter.
But his former senior adviser, Jason Miller, was quick to lift the lid on his feelings about the interview during an appearance on Steve Bannon's podcast later that week.
He claimed that Trump told him he could "make a little news" by sharing his reaction to the interview...
But that, in the end, he had ultimately decided it wasn't a good idea.
He allegedly called Meghan "no good."
"When I was talking to the president this morning ... he's like, 'yeah, [Meghan's] no good. I said that and now everybody's seeing it.'"
Apparently, Trump didn't want to "get canceled" over his opinion on the Duchess.
Miller claimed that Trump had said:
"'But you realize if you say anything negative about Meghan Markle you get canceled. Look at Piers [Morgan].'"
Piers Morgan famously resigned from his post on Good Morning Britain last week as a result of his stance on Meghan's interview.
The controversial journalist had said that he "doesn't believe a word" the Duchess had said during her interview, including her remarks about mental health and suicidal thoughts.
Morgan's words created a huge backlash online...
He later attempted to clarify his comments, saying his disbelief referred specifically to her claim that her request for support was rejected by Buckingham Palace.
But by then, the damage was done.
So, as you can see, Trump is aware of the consequences that speaking out against Markle could bring...
And, for someone who plans on running for president again, they could be diabolical.
Oh, didn't I mention?
Donald Trump is set on launching his third presidential campaign in 2024, despite being the first president to lose his seat after 4 years and to face impeachment twice.
I mean, did we really expect anything else from the scorned former president?
No, we certainly did not.
But what a lot of people weren't expecting was his hopes for Markle's own political career.
Now, rumors of Markle wanting to run for president have been flying for the past week.
A senior Labor figure claimed that the Duchess has been networking with senior Democrats, and is looking to build a campaign, as well as fundraising teams, for any potential campaign, as per the Mirror.
Of course, there is absolutely no credibility or evidence to support these rumors...
Meghan Markle thinking she can run for President is an insult to anyone who’s ever worked hard at anything in life.

But, regardless, many people aren't too impressed with the idea of President Markle.
Though there are some people who quite enjoy the idea of a Markle 2024 campaign...
I cannot begin to describe to you just how much I hope Meghan Markle commits 100% to running for president.

And, apparently, Trump is one of them.
As stated earlier, Trump has expressed his feelings about Markle potentially running for president in 3 years' time...
And actually revealed how he believes it would benefit his own campaign.
In an interview with Fox News on Tuesday night, Trump was asked what his take was on Markle meeting with Democrat operatives and a possible run...
To which he replied:
"Well, I hope that happens because if that happened I think I'd have an even stronger feeling toward running."
He then added:
"I'm not a fan of hers. I think that what she talks about the Royal family and the Queen, and I happen to think, I know the Queen as you know, I met with the Queen and I think the Queen is a tremendous person and I am not a fan of Meghan."
You can listen to what he had to say below.

What do you think of a Markle-run America?
