In the video, which was uploaded to the Archewell website, Meghan and Melissa can be seen discussing plans to mark the duchess's 40th birthday on a video call.

Melissa provides Meghan with plenty of suggestions which include a Suits reunion, before Meghan settles on her plan for the special occasion.

Meghan reveals that she wants to celebrate her birthday by asking forty women to donate forty minutes of their time to help mentor a woman who is going back into the work force after the pandemic.

In a post alongside the video, Meghan explained that she believes "mentorship is one way to help women regain confidence and rebuild their economic strength."

"In reflecting on my 40th birthday and the many things I am grateful for, I'm struck that TIME IS AMONG OUR GREATEST AND MOST ESSENTIAL GIFTS: Time with our loved ones, time doing the things we love, time spent learning, laughing, growing, and the sacred time we have on this earth," she wrote.

She then pointed out that the pandemic had taken employment away from millions of women, while citing that research found that women were less likely to return to work after the pandemic.

"I believe mentorship is one way to help women regain confidence and rebuild their economic strength, and for my birthday, I have asked 40 friends, activists, athletes, artists, and world leaders to help kickoff a global effort by contributing 40 MINUTES OF MENTORSHIP to support women re-entering the workforce," she continued. "With this time, I hope they each help someone advance a professional life on her own terms, and, I hope that they inspire countless others to give 40 minutes of their time as well."

Meghan has received birthday wishes throughout the day, including from many members of the royal family.
