Earlier this year, Meghan Trainor welcomed her first child into the world with husband, Daryl Sabara...

But the singer has now opened up about how her son actually had a very "rocky start" to life.

Scroll on to find out why...

Now, Trainor first made a name for herself back in 2014 with her epic single, "All About That Bass"...

A song promoting body confidence and female empowerment.

The Nantucket-local was rocketed to fame...

And her track reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and sold eleven million copies worldwide... although it drew criticism for its lyrical content.

But what song doesn't, right?!

Trainor went on to release her debut album, Title, in 2015 which included the top-10 singles "Lips Are Movin" and "Like I'm Gonna Lose You."

Her single "No" led her follow-up album, Thank You, in 2016...

Both of which reached number 3 on the respective charts.

Trainor dropped her latest album, Epic, last year...

And alongside the new electronic dance music venture, 2020 brought something even more exciting for the twenty-seven-year-old.

Trainor announced she was expecting her first child with her husband, Daryl Sabara!

Taking to Instagram in October last year, she wrote:

"You all know how long I've wanted this!!!! @darylsabara and I are so beyond happy and excited to meet this little cutie early next year! WE'RE PREGNANTTTTT!!!"

The couple were glowing with happiness as they prepared for their little arrival...

And on February 8th, 2021, the special day finally arrived.

Baby Riley arrived safely into the world.

"This sweet baby boy's due date was today on Valentine's Day. We got to meet him Monday, Feb 8th! We are SO IN LOVE! Thank you @darylsabara for the best Valentine's gift ever! Welcome to the world Riley!" Trainor wrote on Instagram in a heartfelt post.

The singer hasn't been posting as often since her son was born...

Which is completely understandable, of course! Any new mom and dad need the privacy to bond with their baby and adjust to their new roles in life.

But now, Trainor has decided to open up about her first few months of motherhood...

And it turns out that things haven't exactly been smooth sailing for the new parents.

Trainor took to social media over the weekend to share the rocky start Riley had...

And it's seriously tugged on fan's and fellow parent's heartstrings.

In an emotional video, the singer wrote:

TikTok

"We had a rocky start..but Riley is perfect, happy and healthy...so lucky to be your mama sweet boy."

The video contains short clips of little Riley's progress since being born...

From being in an incubator covered in tubes to being able to come home with his mom and dad.

While Trainor didn't disclose exactly why Riley was kept in the hospital for observation...

We're just relived to see him doing so well and, of course, to see him looking so adorable!
