Capitol Rioters Boasted About 'Crashing the White House' | 22 Words

Incriminating - and somewhat embarrassing - footage of 2 accused rioters mistakenly boasting about "crashing the White House" while inside Capitol Hill was exposed by the FBI last month.

Here's the full story...

Now, the events from January 6th still haunt us to this day.

As a joint session of Congress convened to formally count the Electoral College votes and certify Joe Biden's election win, lawmakers were forced to shelter in place and evacuate as pro-Trump rioters broke into the U.S Capitol Building.

And photos showing them looting objects, such as the lectern of U.S. Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, quickly started circulating online.

From this, more violence ensued...

As rioters clashed with the few police officers in presence.

The scenes shocked people all over the globe...

And the world watched on, transfixed, as more and more rioters continued to spill into the Capitol and clash with police.

From the get-go, there were calls for Trump to intervene.

The former president was repeatedly urged to appear on national television to order his supporters to stand down.

He instead issued a series of half-hearted tweets...

Where he reminded the rioters that the police and law enforcement was "on our side," and to "remain peaceful."

Trump's behavior resulted in him being banned from all social media platforms...

And, as control was regained in the Capitol and the cleanup began, an impeachment investigation was launched into the former president for the role he played in the riots.

Of course, the aftermath of the event has been nothing short of unbelievable...

And, as the weeks have trickled by, more and more rioters have been named, shamed, and reprimanded for their actions.

But today, new footage from inside the Capitol during the attack has been circulating.

As stated earlier, 2 accused rioters have been left a little red-faced after footage of them boasting about "crashing the White House" was unearthed.

Yep, they genuinely believed they were in the White House...

You know, when they were in the Capitol Hill Building instead.

Of course, people have been left very amused since the footage was unearthed...

The embarrassing mishap was exposed in an FBI affidavit late last month supporting criminal charges against Texans Jeffrey Shane Witcher and Richard Franklin Barnard, both pictured below.

"I am in the White House! We crashed this! Our house! We did it! We did it, family, we did it!" Witcher could be heard shouting in the cellphone video, according to the affidavit, as per HuffPost.

"We did it! We're in the White House!" Witcher continued to stress, just in case viewers didn't get the mistake the first time around.

"I'm out here with my brother Richard Barnard... It's our house, it's our house! Our house! Hey family, we did it. We came, and we did it. We're inside the White House. Our house."

Witcher later explained to investigators that he was "so emotional and invested in the moment" that he got a little confused.

Both Witcher and Barnard have since been charged with a variety of offenses in relation to their involvement on the day, including trespassing, disorderly conduct, and disruption of the orderly conduct of government business.
