Now, Mia Khalifa is no stranger to a bit of controversy.
Mia very quickly rose to fame in the industry...
Some of her performances ruffled feathers, however...
Her portrayal of the religion caused a lot of controversy...
She even received threats from the terrorist organization, ISIS.
Mia was twenty-one-years-old at the time of the video and she insisted that it was the producers' idea to involve the beheading theme...
She left the industry 3 months later...
via: YoutubeMia transitioned into a career as a social media personality, webcam model, and sports commentator. She also runs her very own YouTube channel, which has over 870,000 subscribers.
One of her old interviews spilled some home truths...
People think I’m racking in millions from porn. Completely untrue. I made a TOTAL of around $12,000 in the industry… https://t.co/IcT3v9smiB— Mia K. (@Mia K.)1565627901.0
The interview was designed for Mia to "tell her story."
via: YoutubeShe began the interview by discussing how she got into the industry and, of course, the controversy surrounding the death threats from ISIS. "The turning point, of course, was when I did the hijab scene," she admitted. "That is when the ISIS death threats came in, all of the news broke out... globally," she added, "not just in America. It was trending on Twitter, it was all over the news."
Mia is still feeling the consequences of the controversial adult film...
via: Youtube"I was banned from a handful of countries… Egypt… Afghanistan… Very Muslim countries were deeply offended by it, and I’m Catholic," Mia explained in the interview.
The topic of money was also brought up...
Months*, and yes. It’s around 1k a video. https://t.co/YWZ0rJ3V8i— Mia K. (@Mia K.)1565648041.0
Mia reminded her fans that she was only in the industry for a few months...
via: Youtube"To clarify, I was never offered millions, nor do I expect it," she went on to say, "I’m just clarifying common misconceptions about me, and in turn, about the industry... I was involved in it so briefly, but my actions spread like wildfire, and I continue to be ranked (truly baffles me) 5 years after leaving the industry. This is why people think I still perform."
The interview brought in floods of support.
@miakhalifa I’m retired,but I do know about the pay. I 100% know it’s possibe Mia only made 12k in total. If your N… https://t.co/WjAqjmeK00— Cassie Young (@Cassie Young)1565657911.0
But now, months on from her confession...
A tweet shared by Mia over the weekend has opened up a wealth of backlash.
In the tweet, Mia criticized Israel - and sparked a huge debate online.
In the tweet, Mia wrote:

My wine is older than your apartheid "state".
But the backlash emerged immediately.
You’re drinking wine made in 1943 Nazi-occupied France, while denying thousands of years of Jewish history in our ancestral homeland.— Hen Mazzig (@HenMazzig) May 30, 2021
Glad you found the perfect pairing for your antisemitism!
Mia should try drinking wine (or any of the other things she enjoys doing) in Gaza for 5 minutes and see how that goes.— Joel M. Petlin (@Joelmpetlin) May 30, 2021
As @billmaher correctly notes “Bella Hadid and her friends would run screaming to Tel Aviv if they had to live in Gaza for one day.”pic.twitter.com/fjRdIFxaIt
My religion and people are older than the Roman Occupation of Israel’s invention of “Palestine.” Have some ancient Hebrew scrolls with your wine! 😂 https://t.co/QKsvVvS9AK— LauraYSolomon (@jeangreyx1432) May 30, 2021
Mia didn't hold back either.
@miakhalifa is a typical antisemitic Muslim bitch. They danced on the streets after 9/11, she calls Israel Apartheid, does the dumb bitch know the meaning of the word? How is Israel “apartheid” when, unlike Muslim countries, EVERYONE can worship, live, run for office, vote, etc? https://t.co/Nl7FcVaweF— AdV (@AdV54248200) May 31, 2021
When one person wrote:

Mia was quick to respond:
I was 8 when 9/11 happened. I’m also catholic. And was living in DC where there was no dancing in the streets, just unwavering trauma from schoolmates knowing they weren’t going to be picked up and taken home because their parents worked at the pentagon. But go awf, sis. https://t.co/KY128lozkc— Mia K. (@miakhalifa) May 31, 2021

Who do you agree with?
It’s not antisemitic you dumb fuck, I’ll argue with anyone and everyone, I’m an equal opportunity cyber bully!!! 🤨 https://t.co/8x7XJkUjJN— Mia K. (@miakhalifa) May 30, 2021
It's certainly sparked quite the debate.
