Comedian and SNL star Michael Che is being blasted online for sharing a very tasteless Larry Nassar joke when discussing Simone Biles' exit from the Team USA gymnastics team.
The thirty-eight-year-old stand-up comedian left a bad impression on social media users after he screenshot and posted a reply to one of his Instagram stores in which he claimed he had "3 mins of Simone Biles jokes in [his] head."
The so-called "joke" originally sent to him by another social media user said: "Larry Nassar understands Simone Biles better than anyone. He too had to quit doing what he loved at the pinnacle of his career because of mounting pressure. It's hack."
Che shared the snapshot, along with the caption: "Goddamn, that's rough. Absolutely tasteless. 9/10." Really? Come on. Bearing in mind that he did this after sharing another Instagram Story in which he claimed that he wanted to "make fun of Simone Biles." But there's making a joke, then there's crossing into a**hole territory and I can firmly confirm Che is now royalty in the latter.
Of course, people were not impressed in the slightest. Thousands of outraged comments poured in slamming the SNL comedian as insensitive and "vile." Even dark humor nerds cringed at this one, that's how bad it landed.
Okay that Michael Che “joke" abt Nassar is vile.
I felt nauseated.

Michael Che...wtf bro? Nassar jokes??? Really?? You're sick. Leave Simone Biles alone, creep.

Larry Nassar sexually assaulted over 300 gymnasts including Simone Biles. Jokes about this immense violence are never okay. @hbomax @nbcsnl why is Michael Che still on your roster?

Later on, Che claimed he "was hacked," and that it couldn't possibly be him that posted the screenshots because he only jokes about "white people" and "cops." He also tried to deflect the attention towards "DaBaby" who has recently been slammed for his homophobic comments.
Keep digging, why don't you?
it's pretty tasteless to make any joke about simone rn but making a nassar joke? michael che you're going to fucking hell. next time she wants to train i volunteer your face as a landing mat

The news comes after the twenty-four-year-old gymnast left audiences shocked as she pulled out of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics following her worst-ever Olympic vault score, saying she needed to focus on her mental wellbeing. The mere fact that her mental health had been compromised could leave her vulnerable to serious injuries throughout the Games so she did the only thing she thought would be right and that was to take a step back and let someone else help lead Team USA to victory.
Biles received an outpour of support from a number of high-profile figures including Michelle Obama and Viola Davis, but of course, she also received some criticism from a bunch of jobless nobodies online, including Piers Morgan, who publicly shamed Biles in an opinion piece saying she "let her team down, [her] mates, [her] fans and [her] country."
Why don't you try being the greatest gymnast in history and then see how it feels? It's a lot of unnecessary pressure at such a young age. Instead of tearing her down, we should be commending Simone Biles for being able to understand her limitations and for also doing what's best for her mental and physical health.
End of discussion. And as for Michael Che, what an a**hole.
