Mom Names Her Three Children Metallica, Slayer and Pantera | 22 Words

A heavy metal-loving mom has reportedly named her three children, Metallica, Slayer and Pantera.

The revelation was first made by New Zealand documentary filmmaker David Farrier who shared it his Webworm newsletter, Metal Hammer reports.

Later summarising the story on Twitter, Farrier explained that an unnamed woman has named her children after 3 of the biggest heavy metal bands.

"Proud to report that a New Zealand mother has named her children Metallica, Pantera, and Slayer. she told me 'it's not easy raising three of the heaviest bands'," Farrier wrote on Twitter in the first post of his thread.

Farrier then explained that at first, he was suspicious about the names, especially as one of the child's middles names was "And Justice for All," after the band's fourth album.

"I become a bit suspicious when she also included @metallica's best album 'and justice for all' in her kid's name too, but New Zealand's registrar-general seems to confirm it's a real thing," he wrote while attaching a screenshot from his newsletter.

The screenshot showed the Farrier had contacted New Zealand's registrar-general, who had replied saying: "There are no restrictions on naming babies after bands or albums, as long as the word used is not generally considered to be offensive or does not resemble an official rank or title.

"This particular baby was registered in 2009 by the previous Register-General. A similar application made today is likely to also be approved."

Farrier, who claims to have seen the birth certificates for Metallica, Slayer, and Pantera, also attached a picture of the mom in a following tweet.

"Finally, I think it's important to note (as you can see in the photo in my article) this mother is also a big fan of crossbows which are also truly metal and she deserves our complete and utter respect for this (and for raising three kids)" he wrote.

What do you think about their names? Would you name your child after your favourite band?
