Paris, who is now forty, is perhaps the person to thank for the generation of social media influencers and she has been a fashion icon for years now.

And she's really managed to name for herself.

Well, let's rewind to the late '90s when Paris was just nineteen-years-old.

Paris already came from a prestigious family...

As everyone knows by her name, her great grandfather founded the Hilton hotel chain, meaning her family were considerably wealthy.

From a young age, Paris had a very esteemed socialite...

And signing with Donald Trump's modeling agency, T Management, gave her the exposure that she wanted and needed.

After a few years of modeling...

Paris' big breakthrough came in 2003 when she co-starred in the reality series The Simple Life with co-socialite Nicole Richie.

The high-maintenance pair lived with a couple who lived in a rural community in Arkansas...

And their dim yet hilarious outlook on life built the show a huge fan base.

Did you know that Paris has had her signature line, "That's Hot," trademarked?

Yep, it is officially hers.

And after an intimate video was released of Paris online...

The show became a global success, plunging the young woman even more into the limelight.

Fans just seemed to love everything about the glamourous socialite...

And even when The Simple Life came to an end in 2006 after Paris and Nicole very publically fell out, she continued to rise to fame.

Paris went on to appear in a number of low-budget comedy movies...

But she never starred in anything big enough to define her as a serious actress.

Not to mention her stabs in the music industry... Yikes.

She has released 1 album and has worked as a DJ at big events over the years.

Her social life seemed to be her full-time profession...

And Paris would spend the majority of her time in Beverly Hills with A-listers and millionaires... living her best life pretty much.

But even among all the glitz and glamour, there were a few low moments.

And one of them most notably being the whole "Stop Being Poor" tank top fiasco.

But after years, she's finally addressed it and let's just say, we're all a little gobsmacked...

TikTok

Tell me you remember the iconic outfit...

A low-rise pink ombre midi skirt paired with a white tank top with the words "Stop Being Poor" plastered in black lettering across the middle.

Now, at the time, it caused a bit of a stir after it was posted on Tumblr.

But it wasn't until a media outlet shared the altered snap and it started igniting rumors about her lavish lifestyle.

But now, Paris has debunked all the rumors around it and has even gone on to reveal the curator of the viral photo.

Posting to TikTok, she said this: "So there is this photo online of me, I'm sure you've seen it."

She continued:

"I never wore that shirt.

"This was completely Photoshopped, everyone thinks it's real but that's not the truth."

The background then changes to a photo of the actual shirt she was wearing which reads "Stop Being Desperate."

"Don't believe everything you read."

After she posted the video online, she was surprised to discover that the person behind the editing of the image had come forward to apologize.

It was an artist named Jubilee who offered a sincere apology to Paris before she invited her onto her This Is Paris podcast to explain the entire situation.

"I'm glad you're not upset or anything," Jubilee's Twitter message read.

"Truly didn't think people would think it was real or get upset over it. LOL. I hope it hasn't brought you any grief."

They continued:

"I think some article got a hold of it... they actually thought the shirt was real," Jubilee explained. "I didn't want anyone to think it was real. When I look at it, it seems pretty obviously fake to me."

"I definitely never meant any ill will or anything like that and I'm sorry it caused you stress cause you thought it was the paparazzi," they added.

"It was just some dumb kid with photoshop."

So there we have it, folks!
