The suspect who killed 5 people in York County on Wednesday, April 7th, before later killing himself has today been identified as former NFL player, Phillip Adams, new reports are claiming.

Here's the full story...

Adams, thirty-three, was best known for playing for the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks, and New York Jets in a 6-year career that began in 2010.

He was drafted in the seventh round in 2010 by the 49ers.

However, thanks to several injuries, his career came to a premature end.

During the 2012 season with the Raiders, he suffered 2 concussions over a 3-game stretch, which, combined with a groin injury, eventually ended his season.

He also suffered a broken left ankle in 2010.

But, of course, nobody was expecting to hear this week's news.

As stated earlier, it has been confirmed that Adams has been identified as the suspect who shot 6 people, killing 5 of them, before turning the gun on himself yesterday.

People have been reacting with horror since the news broke...

A doctor, his wife, and their 2 young grandchildren were among those found Wednesday evening at a home in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

They died as a result of gunshot wounds, according to the York County Sheriff's Office.

Dr. Robert Lesslie, seventy, Barbara Lesslie, sixty-nine, and their grandchildren, Adah Lesslie, 9, and Noah Lesslie, 5, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man, James Lewis, thirty-eight, who had been working in the house at the time, was found dead outside.

A sixth person was injured and taken to a local hospital for serious gunshot wounds...

Trent Faris, York County Sheriff's Office spokesperson, said in a press conference.

Speaking of Dr. Lesslie, Faris said:

"Dr. Lesslie has been one of those people that everybody knows. He started Riverview Medical Center in Rock Hill and it has been a staple in Rock Hill for years."

"It doesn't happen here," Faris added.

"It's one of those strange things that a lot of people are going to have a hard time understanding."

Adams had been treated by Dr. Lesslie in the past, according to AP's source.

The source added that Adams killed himself after midnight Thursday.

The investigation continues.
