Singer and former child star, Quindon Tarver, has passed away at the age of thirty-eight.

The tragic circumstances surrounding his death has since surfaced...

He was well known for his role in Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet.

After signing with Virgin Records at the age of twelve, Quindon was cast as a choirboy who also performed a cover of Rozalla's "Everybody's Free" in the movie.

Baz has since posted on Instagram to pay his respects.

"A beautiful soul has passed," Baz wrote, "My thoughts are with Quindon Tarver's family and loved ones."

The director also shared a clip of Quindon singing during rehearsals for the film.

The details of his death are tragic...

According to his uncle Kevin Tarver...

He died in a car accident in Texas on April 1.

"He had been through so much," Quindon's uncle said.

"But his focus was on his music. He was getting ready to make his comeback. He had been in the studio working on a project that was supposed to be released this year."

The Texas Department of Public Safety said that at approximately 10:35 am on April 1, Highway Patrol Troopers were called to a single-vehicle crash...

It has been reported that the driver lost control, struck a center concrete barrier in the road, then veered back across the road and struck the guardrail.

Quindon was transported to hospital but sadly died from his injuries...

The crash is currently under investigation.
