Olympian, Raven Saunders' mom has died, just days after the Team USA shot putter won her silver medal.
Clarissa Saunders died in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday just days after she watched her daughter win her first medal at the Games, the Huffington Post reports.
Clarissa had been staying in the city as she was attending an Olympic watch party of the competition.
Following her mom's passing, Raven took to Twitter to announce that she would be taking a break from social media to take care of her mental health and her family.
"My mama was a great woman and will forever live through me," she also wrote. "My number one guardian angel. I will always and forever love you."

People have taken to social media to offer their condolences to Saunders.
"Ain't no way she wasn't at peace. Watching you win, dominate, & give it all you got how you did, ain't no way she wasn't happy & proud. I know that's little consolation but it's FACTS ! Take your mental rest & take your time. She is & always will be proud of you Miss Raven," one person tweeted.
"We are heartbroken over this tragic news. I hope you can feel the love surrounding you from afar. Your mother like you, was an inspiration and friend to many," said another.
"Sending prayers to you and your family… She had to be a magnificent woman to have raised a someone like you, a woman that other young women can look up to! I know she was PROUD!" added a third.
USA Track and Field also offered its condolences in a message that said they are "so proud" of Raven.
"Her mother leaves behind an incredible legacy in her daughter for who we are so proud and grateful to call our teammate," it said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the Saunders family during this difficult time."
In a Mother's Day post earlier this year, Raven highlighted just how important her mom was to her.
"You've shown me what strength is and for that I can push through anything," she wrote.
"You've shown me relentlessness and for that I've learned determination. You've given me life and shown me love and for that I owe you everything. Happy Mother's Day to the number one woman in my life. I love you and thank you for being a great mother!!!!"
Rest in peace, Clarissa Saunders.
