Sha'Carri Richardson has been offered a $250K endorsement deal to become a spokesperson for a vape company.
Dr. Dabber, a vaping organization with a focus on weed, offered Richardson the endorsement after was disqualified from competing in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics after failing a drugs test.
Richardson accepted a thirty-day suspension after she tested positive for a chemical found in marijuana during last month's Olympic trials. She said the use of the drug was her way of coping with the grief of losing her biological mother who passed one week prior to the Olympic Trials
Although Richardson won't be heading to the Olympics, it seems she isn't short of opportunities as she has been offered the chance to become a spokesperson.
Dr. Dabber has offered for Richardson to become a spokesperson and "resident- doctor."
In the offer, obtained by TMZ, the company lays out Richardson's possible responsibilities and payment.
The letter to Richardson from Dr. Dabber first sees the company offer their condolences about her suspension.
"We were saddened to learn of your recent suspension from the U.S Track and Field Team, due to THC and missing the opportunity to compete at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games," it reads. "At Dr. Dabber, we believe that THC can actually have many positive effects on an athlete's recovery and overall mental wellbeing."
It then moves on to offer Richardson a role with them, writing: "Witnessing what you're capable at the Olympic trials and fabulous you looked while doing it, proved your star-power and ability to command the country's attention. Considering your talent and grace over these past weeks, we would love to offer you the opportunity to work with our team as a spokesperson for Dr. Dabber. This entails testing our award-winning dab rigs and vape pens as a resident 'doctor.'"
The letter notes that Richardson's payment for the role would be $250,000.
The company also notes that should she wish to speak about anything in the offer, they "can make ourselves available at a moments notice to further discuss specifics or questions you may have."
It's good to see Richardson has been offered some more opportunities during such a difficult time! We wish her the best of luck for the future.
