In a story that sounds stranger than fiction, Shakira took to Instagram Stories on Wednesday to tell a terrifying tale...
The singer and her 8-year-old son were walking in a park in Barcelona when the incident took place.
She said the 2 were victims of a random attack by wild boars, who then stole her bag and ran away from the scene.
"Look at how two wild boars which attacked me in the park have left my bag," she said, showing her torn handbag to the camera.
"They were taking my bag to the woods with my mobile phone in it," the singer continued. "They've destroyed everything!"
She then got her son in on the story.
"Milan tell the truth. Say how your mummy stood up to the wild boar."
Although the story sounds funny, it's actually indicative of increasingly aggressive boars that have been attacking humans across the region in recent years.
As per the BBC, in 2016, Spanish police received 1,187 phone calls about wild hogs.
In fact, wild boars are one of the world's most invasive species and can thrive in basically any environment. They're particularly drawn to areas populated by humans, as they can feed off food waste.
It's believed there are over 10 million of them in Europe alone. Pretty scary stuff!
"They are very aggressive, unsocial animals and there are way too many of them, they pose a huge threat to public safety. Pop stars, that is…" one Facebook commenter joked.
We hope Shakira and her son are doing okay.
