Oreo's S'mores-Flavored Cookies Are Back This Summer | 22 Words

If there's ever been a snack that's become the stuff of legends, it has to be the Oreo S'more. Oreo's are good enough on their own (that cookies and cream flavor is iconic for a reason) - but when they expand into the realm of the limited-edition flavor, that's when things get really exciting.

Over the years, we've experienced delights such as Cinnamon Bun Oreo's, Jelly Donut Oreo's, and even Peeps Oreo's. But there's one Oreo flavor that die-hard fans have longed to make a comeback - the S'mores Oreo. Nabisco first launched the flavor back in 2015, and the internet quickly lost its collective mind.

The flavor was limited edition and vanished almost as soon as it arrived - much to the internet's chagrin. It briefly reappeared on supermarket shelves back in 2019, but again, quickly vanished. Rumors abounded of a potential second comeback in 2020, but it never happened. As if that year couldn't get any worse, right?

But today, fans of S'mores Oreo's have finally heard the news they've been waiting for. 2021 will see a resurgence of the iconic flavor - and there's new packaging to prove it.

For those who don't know, S'mores Oreo's are designed to mimic the delicious flavor of a real S'more. That's a piece of chocolate and a toasted marshmallow sandwiched between two Graham crackers, typically eaten while sitting around a campfire, singing songs, and telling scary stories.

We've yet to have the privilege, but if the internet is anything to go by, the Oreo equivalent is as delicious as the real thing. It contains two layers of the famous Oreo cream - one chocolate flavor, and one marshmallow flavor. And the outer biscuits are, of course, flavored to taste like Graham crackers. It's basically all the fun of a s'more, but with none of the faffing around.

So, how do we know the S'more Oreo's are making their triumphant return? Well, it's all thanks to Instagram. Popular account Junk Banter posted an image of the product - and we know it's brand new, as it's in packaging we've never seen before... a special, limited edition, Fourth of July themed packaging.

This brings us on to the even more exciting news. Presumably, this means the S'more Oreo's will be hitting shelves very soon indeed. After all, the Fourth of July is just around the corner.

It's been confirmed that the new packaging has had to impact on what's inside - the Oreo S'more flavor is the same one the internet knows and loves. We just hope they'll stick around longer than just for the summer celebrations of America's birthday!

Will you be stocking up?
