According to ET, couple Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have applied for their marriage license in Johnstone, Oklahoma, which can only mean one thing - the wedding is happening soon!
In Oklahoma, a marriage license expires 10 days after it's issued, so we can expect the wedding bells to be ringing any day.
Shelton and Stefani have been engaged since October last year when he popped the question, following 5 years of the couple dating. There had already been rumors that the couple had already tied the knot when they were snapped in Santa Monica, California, as the singer appeared to be rocking a sparkly wedding band next to her engagement ring.
Last month, fifty-one-year-old Stefani celebrated an intimate bridal shower attended by her friends and family. "I got kidnapped by family to celebrate that I'm getting married!" she said in an Instagram post, with another reading, "Feeling loved, feeling blessed."
The "Hollaback Girl" singer revealed in April that the wedding was intended to be a low-key affair.
"We're keeping it very simple. Really simple," Stefani said during her appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. "I think the guest list will not have a lot of musicians. It'll be like my mom and my dad. It's literally going to be just family. We are looking forward to that, though."
"It's going to be fun. We're going to make it really fun, but it's not going to be a big [event]," she continued. "It's not like the queen and king are getting married or something like that."
Country music singer Blake Shelton also revealed what the first dance soundtrack is intended to be.
"It's 'If You Leave' from the Pretty In Pink soundtrack," Shelton shared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. "We talked about this. We both love the song. We're both fans of the '80s, why not? Don't you think that would be a great one, though? We've literally talked about that."
A source recently told PEOPLE that the duo is looking forward to their wedding this summer and are excited to have guests present. "Ever since they got engaged, they have both been adamant that no wedding will happen until it's safe for family and friends to attend," the source said. "Gwen expressed early on that she really wanted a summer wedding."
"She was upset earlier this year when it seemed to be no end in sight for the pandemic," the source continued. "She slowly started planning the wedding this spring though."
"They are both ecstatic that it can finally happen. They are getting married this summer. Gwen's boys will be very involved," the insider added. "Blake is a great extra dad and very close with the boys."
Stefani shares 3 boys with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale - Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo. The couple was married from 2002 until the divorce finalized in 2016.
Shelton and Stefani's love story commenced on the set of the talent show The Voice in 2015, where the couple bonded over recent heartbreak and divorces. By November 2015, the two were officially dating and by the following year, the couple was walking red carpets as a pair.
During the pandemic, the couple spent their quarantine together, dropping songs "Happy Anywhere" in January 2020 and "Nobody but You" in July of that same year. The couple announced their engagement on Instagram sharing a photo of Stefani and Shelton kissing as she showed off her ring.
