Family vloggers, Nikki and Dan Phillippi, have caused outrage online after euthanizing their dog.
Their video has sent shockwaves through the internet. Here's the full story...
Now, this story has left many people horrified.
Especially since dogs are one of the most beloved pets.
These adorable creatures are basically the best things on earth. If you're ever feeling down in the dumps, a dog is guaranteed to make you feel better.
They are truly man's best pals.
Whether they’re causing mischief, giving us those puppy eyes when they want a treat, or taking up the entire sofa, many of us couldn’t live without our furry friends.
Once you become a dog-parent, there's no going back...
It’s hard to imagine a life without having a pooch to come home to.
In an age where the internet is so divided, there's one thing we can all agree on...
How utterly amazing (and adorable) our 4-legged friends are.
But sadly, not all dogs have the life they deserve...

Many face years of neglect, homelessness, and abuse.
And some dogs face euthanasia.

And that brings us to todays tragic story...
Family vloggers, Nicki and Dan Phillippi, revealed in a YouTube video they have euthanized their 9-year-old bull terrier, Bowser.
And it's caused outrage online...
so glad nikki and dan phillipi are being called out, was absolutely horrified when they uploaded that - they didn’t even TRY to help the dog considering it’s their fault in the first place he was the way he was....— roisin (@raisincaw) May 6, 2021
Nikki phillipi and her husband Dan are should be charged with Animal Cruelty you guys are beyond disgusting people and i hope your entire platform is fucked because everyone hates you know you clout chasing garbagebags "influencers" that dog didn't deserve it but you guys do.— Walrus of the Omnissiah (@BeardedWalrus34) May 7, 2021
On the subject of nikki and dan phillipi what vet signed off on euthanasia of a healthy dog? thats what i wanna know and what we should be asking too— Aubree💜 (@haiitsaubree) May 6, 2021
Did y’all see that Nikki and Dan Phillipi literally murdered their dog and did a photoshoot before hand with the child that it bit? And now they’re trying to get internet sympathy but it turns out that the internet actually hates people who kill animals when they don’t have to.— ✨Hailey✨ (@thewizpalace) May 5, 2021
This bullshit with Nikki Phillipi having her dog killed and claiming it couldn’t be re-homed instead has absolutely broken my heart today. How can you own a dog for 10 years and make this decision? He deserved better.— Rach🥰🥺 (@RachelAnnSteph) May 5, 2021
Dear Nikki Phillipi, putting your dog down instead of rehoming him for new “aggression” issues is bullshit ♥️ i had a pet who put my fiancé and I in the ER and I rehomed her. And she was attacked. Killing an animal for PTSD that they have zero control over is disgusting.— 💎Caroline Olivia💎 (@CarolineeOlivia) May 4, 2021
Nikki Phillipi deserves nothing better than she gave her dog. Her stupid fucking husband too. Saying he wanted to "old yeller" their poor pup. You know that means go out back and shoot it right? I feel like thats being glazed past.— Amanda Draper (@drapera97) May 6, 2021
In light of the Nikki phillipi news if you put your dog down just because they show aggressive behaviours instead of getting them professional training or rehoming them to people without children you deserve to burn in hell— bartsy landfill (@BetsyWindmill) May 5, 2021
In the YouTube video posted on Monday, Nikki and Dan explained that Bowser reacted to their son Logan taking food from him.
However, they said the injury "wasn't bad" and their son has a "little mark."
Noting that Bowser had injured other dogs previously, Dan said:
"In the moment, I'm thinking I grew up with the movie Old Yeller and I wanted to pick Bowser up by the back of the neck and take him to the backyard and put him down right there."
They then move on to claim that the Humane Society told them rehoming Bowser would be impossible...
So they decided to use a euthanasia service to him put him down.
Following the video, Nikki posted a selection of pictures to Instagram with Bowser before his death, which included photos with their child.
She has since made her Instagram profile private.
