And people are questioning this very fact after seeing shocking footage of the incident on social media.

Now, Minnesota has been plagued with so much tragedy in the last year...

And it all started when George Floyd - an unarmed Black man - was killed in Minneapolis by a police officer in May 2020, triggering the Black Lives Matter movement globally.

The demand for justice for the Black community here in America has never been stronger and protests have been happening all around the world.

But sadly, Black people continue to be the victims of unlawful treatment by police officers that more than often result in serious injury and/or death.

And the most recent police-related tragedy happened yet again in Minnesota.

On Sunday, April 11th, twenty-year-old Daunte Wright was pulled over for a traffic violation with an outstanding arrest warrant.

When Wright attempted to escape as the police officers who were trying to handcuff him, a female officer threatened to taser him...

But instead of pulling out her taser, she pulled out her handgun and proceeded to "accidentally" shoot Wright in the chest.

And tragically, he died shortly afterwards.

From the moment Wright's death was announced to the public, outrage was triggered...

And people have been demanding justice for yet another Black man to die at the hands of the police here in America.

On the evening following the tragic event, several hundred people defied the curfew and gathered at the Brooklyn Center police station in protest of Wright's untimely death.

But sadly, it didn't take long for things to turn violent.

Officers in riot gear fired gas canisters and flash-bang grenades after some demonstrators threw bottles and other objects at the station...

And the anger and emotion in the air was undeniable.

Wright's mother, Katie Wright, was also present at the protest.

She later revealed to KARE 11 that she was on the phone with her son as he got pulled over and heard the "scuffle."

"A minute later, I called and his girlfriend answered, who was the passenger in the car, and said that he'd been shot and she put it on the driver's side, and my son was laying there, lifeless. My heart is broken into a thousand pieces... I miss him so much, and it's only been a day. He was my life, he was my son and I can never get that back. Because of a mistake? Because of an accident?"

The police officer responsible has since been identified by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension as Kim Potter, a twenty-six-year veteran of the police department...

And after being forced to take administrative leave immediately, she is now facing charges of second-degree manslaughter.

Although Potter will be facing justice and serving time for her despicable actions...

Nothing will bring back Wright and the thousands of other Black people who have lost their lives thanks to police brutality.

And a recent shocking event in Minnesota has just rubbed this very fact in the face of the entire Black community.

Police in Hutchinson, Minnesota, were called out to a home improvement store on April 14th because Luke Alvin Oeltjenbruns, a sixty-one-year-old white man, refused to wear a face mask.

The man reportedly struck an employee with a piece of lumber before fleeing to the parking lot...

Twitter

And when police officers chased him into his truck, he rammed 2 police cars and assaulted an officer... and it was all caught on camera.

People have, of course, been left shocked by the footage that's since been posted on social media...

Twitter

But everyone has been pointing out one thing... how could this man assault police officers and not get attacked, tasered, shot, or killed in the process? Because let's face it, if he were Black, there would have been an entirely different outcome.

Thankfully, nobody was seriously hurt in the shocking altercation...

And Oeltjenbruns was arrested for first-degree assault with great bodily harm, according to TMZ.

You can watch the shocking footage here:

And let's hope this is a huge wake up call to all police departments here in the United States who are guilty of brutality towards the Black community.
