The internet has been divided after a Twitter user revealed that she poured a basin of water over her neighbor's son after he chucked a cup of water over her cat.
But who do you think is in the wrong? Here's the full story...
Sometimes children just don't learn or listen.
When you tell them not to do something, they do it again...
It can be a very frustrating situation.
And one in which you have to learn to keep your cool and not retaliate like one woman did.
Twitter user Shannoncooperox recently shared her story about the time her neighbor's kid threw a cup of water over her cat.
So, to teach the kid a lesson, she threw threw a basin of water over him.
But as you can imagine, the post - which has attracted over 5 hundred thousand likes - has caused a huge debate online...
With some people blaming Shannon for the incident.
Maybe keep your car inside so that it isn’t abused or killed 🤷♀️— Mandi Welcomes you to the TechnoFascist State 🇵🇸 (@tucsoniris) May 21, 2020
People defending this clearly haven't surrounded themselves by children and don't understand the development they are still going through. The child is still growing and understanding consequences. How could a FULLY DEVELOPED adult act like a 10 year old who is still learning?— WASABI🆖️ (@Wet_Wasabi) May 21, 2020
2 wrongs don’t make a right! Think you need to grow up and of spoke to his dad rather than retaliating 🤷🏼♂️— bjacko69 (@bjacko691) May 21, 2020
Its v childish how you handled it you should had told the parents first so that they could punish their own kid... Like no that wouldn't hurt a kid but at the same time as a parent myself ID LIKE TO HANDLE MY KID because no its not right the kid did that but its also not yours— Luna (@GhoulEmpress) May 21, 2020
While others claimed the boy got what he deserved.

Also his dad should teach his shitty kid to be nice to animals. I don't let little kids anywhere near my pets if I can help it. They're too damn rough and their parents don't do anything about it until the kid gets scratched or growled at.
If I could give this a thousand likes I would. My neighbor upstairs poured a bucket of water on my Katherine. She was 20 years old but still enjoyed being out in the fresh air not bothering anyone. My payback - videoing him pissing off the balcony and having has his ass evicted.— You're Fired! (@gotpartyfavorz) May 22, 2020
Sounds like he got what he deserved 👍— steven (@AvfcsteveSd) May 22, 2020
If you did this to my kid I’d be at your door to thank you. Kids know better. He was being cruel and needed a dose of his own medicine. He will recover— Green Eyed Momster (@adrianneViewing) May 21, 2020
Okay but if my kid did some bullshit thing like this(I know he won’t cause I’ll teach him better) and he came in and told me this I’d be like well your probably deserved it now go dry off 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️— Scarlet Ray Lynn (@daddyscarlet) May 22, 2020
I love a good teaching moment. I’m not mad. Sometimes you need other people to teach your kid something that can not be explained in words, or pictures. Action is experience. That's hysterical. No harm no foul. Just a good ol neighborly water fight.— BluGal (@Blu1Gal) May 22, 2020

My 10 year old neighbour just threw a cup of water over my cat who was sitting on the fence minding his own business n laughed so I threw a basin of water over him from the window and now his dad is at my door going mental but I don’t see the problem, don’t touch my cat— shannon (@shannoncooperox) May 20, 2020

Fortunately, though, it seems the situation turned out fine eventually...
And Shannon and her neighbors even managed to laugh about what happened.
As the following day, Shannon updated everyone on the situation, writing:
people r so mad over this, the kid and his dad were laughing about it today, we r friends (also might I add the dad never knew what his son done which is why he was mad to begin with) also the kid is 13 he rlly looks fkn 10 lmao— shannon (@shannoncooperox) May 21, 2020

So, who do you think was in the wrong? Shannon or the little boy?
