At last, we have some good news...

Filming for season 3 has finally wrapped!

Now, the obsession started when Netflix's You hit our screens for the first time.

Perfect for those in the post-Christmas slump, the psychological thriller followed the ill-fated romantic pursuits of a terrifying sociopath, named Joe.

It was based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Caroline Kepnes.

In the series, Joe becomes absolutely obsessed with a writing student and all-around Millenial cliche named Guinevere Beck, stopping at nothing to gain her affections.

Some of Joe's actions are pretty questionable.

And by questionable, we mean terrifying. What starts with him intensely investigating Beck's social media accounts quickly descends into some full-blown stalking. The girl seriously needed to invest in some curtains.

And it got worse...

By the end of series 1, not only were all of Beck's closest acquaintances murdered but (spoiler alert), Beck had to go too. She simply knew too much about Joe's horrifying habits.

Because you can't get away with this stuff forever, right?

Although (worryingly enough), Joe seemed to have managed to go on a full-blown killing spree without consequences - and there was an even more bizarre reaction to his behavior.

Because in spite of the fact Joe Goldberg was a stalker and murderer?

Yep, that's right. Pretty much the whole of the internet developed a huge crush on him. This is why we can't have nice things.

Anyway, the show was a major success globally...

Meaning a second season wasn't far around the corner.

After the trail of destruction Joe left behind in New York, season 2 of You had to have a slight change of scenery.

Joe moved cross country to Los Angeles, with the best intentions to turn over a new leaf and leave all the creepiness and crimes back in NYC.

And with a new city, comes a new love interest.

As Beck is (sadly) no more, Joe obviously needed a new victim - sorry, sorry, girlfriend. Joe's new victim, Love Quinn, was played by Victoria Pedretti and she certainly threw a spanner in the works.

But season 2 also saw some recurring characters.

Joe's mysterious ex, Candace, who we believed for all of season 1 to be dead, was back in season 2 to teach Joe a serious lesson.

One thing was for certain throughout the season, however...

And that was that Joe was utterly unable to outrun his past for too long.

You can take the man away from stalking, but you can't take the stalker out of the man, after all!

The second series of You was based also on Kepnes' follow up book.

The second book, called Hidden Bodies, came out in 2016.

Season 2 was a thrilling one, to say the least.

"Joe is always trying to be a good guy but yet somehow he's finding himself in these thriller, horror kind of situations. It's terrible for him but I think it's going to be so much fun for the audience," the show's producer, Sera Gamble said.

But in similarity to the first season, it wasn't for the faint-hearted.

"My career is full of blood and gore and monsters," Gamble explained, much to fans delight.

Of course, You season 2 was a huge success upon its release...

Which left fans asking... will there be another season?!

Well, luckily for us obsessed fans...

Our wishes were granted.

Penn Badgley revealed the much-needed season 3 in 2019.

The star of the show accidentally revealed that season 3 is on the horizon... just days after the release of season 2!

And he also dropped some plot secrets.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the actor slipped up while talking about the possibility of a female killer. "She doesn't appear to be the same kind of person. She doesn't appear to be the same kind of predator. She doesn't appear to be the same kind of... you know, dare I say, in the third season - oh, god!"

Then he realized his mistake.

He slapped his head and said, "I literally know nothing about the third season." Nice try, Penn. Nice try.

Since Badgley leaked the announcement news about the third series has been trickling in...

Including the long awaited question of who Joe's female neighbor is, as teased in the finale of season 2.

Well, Variety explained:

"Married to a powerful man, Natalie is a professional and social success. But she sees through the shallow, Stepford-esque vibe that surrounds her, and beneath her wry exterior, she leads a secret life. One that Joe is willing to work hard to learn more about."

And now, we have even more exciting news...

And it's safe to say fans are thrilled by it.

Showrunner Sera Gamble took to Twitter to share the exciting news.

In a series of tweets she wrote: "Today is our last day of shooting season 3 of #YouNetflix. Can I brag to you for a hot second?"

Gamble then bragged about having "zero on-set positive COVID tests" while filming.

Explaining that "every single member of cast & crew worked very hard to take care of each other during a time that's stressful."

Gamble also spoke about feeling "privileged to have gotten to witness everyone's creativity, resilience and kindness."

"I mean, I knew our team was tough and good at their jobs, but holy s**t did everyone show up for each other. All the way up the Warner's/Netflix ladder and in every production department," she wrote.

Before revealing the episodes are "bonkers."

Branding the performances as "insanely good."

As of now, there's no confirmed release date for season 3.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that we don't have long left to wait.
